Sources say that #NYR president John Davidson and GM Jeff Gorton scurried to distance themselves from the team statement that was issued on Tuesday night, telling other executives that they did not know it was in the works until after it was released.

I'm not even sure what to say right now.

This organization is (frank)ed and I am gonna take a leave for a while. I'm not dealing with the troll activity that will come from this.

i can't even imagine what is going on inside the minds of the rangers players right now. No one on the current available roster is equipped to handle Wilson and the hype train is going so fast it's going to come off the tracks. Very weird situation

I think the players are pumped up to just play the game and win. Maybe a few take some cheap shots at Wilson but just wanting to win the game.

Pure speculation, but what are the odds that Dolan told Davidson to fire Gorton and he refused? Axing a team president after two years on the job just based on team performance makes zero sense.
