Agreed. You just need a 4th line that can skate but also plays with an edge and gets to the dirt areas.

If Dolan throws an old star like Messier in or some other Garth Snow-like move, what are the odds that Zib doesn't want to resign or that if he does it is purely for an absolute max dollar paycheck?

If you're Fox do you now say "no thanks" to a long term deal and want a short term bridge deal so that you don't risk ending up like EK65 in Ottawa bc ownership is dysfunctional?

Does someone like Lundkvist say "maybe I won't sign that ELC. I'll take my chances as a free agent." I think I would pass if I were him and find an organization with a more stable front office/culture.

I could see some ripple effects here where players don't have confidence in leaderships direction or stability and if one or two dominos fall, or even show hesitation, it escalates. Next thing you know you go from getting players like Fox and Hayes for a song to becoming the team having to overpay anyone to play there.

Yeah, Wilson will be Wilson, can't change a teams dynamic cause of 1 player. I just want the Rangers to be more "collectively tough" Maybe I'm asking to much because its a young roster, but its what I would like to see.

i'm so far beyond speculating at this point

I should have put my life savings on Quinn outlasting Davidson in the organization. Would be a rich TPC right now

Hopefully a little Sean Avery lightens the mood a touch

Agree with this entirely. Got to be able to play the game in many ways. If fans didn't learn that when NYR traded away Gartner, Weight, and Amonte for rough and tumble vets to win the Cup, they will never understand.

A rebuild is not just skill oriented....It has to be about an identity as well. Being weak isn't an identity you want to have for a young up and coming team
