Florida is one of the best teams in the league. I just don’t see them moving him
- TPC

yeah, ultimately I don't know why they wouldn't give him the money he would want to stay

he's still only 5.9 million next season and then after that Florida can give him 8 years 80 million and call it a day

I think they regret Bobrovsky though

big time

I think the better argument for trading Kakko isn't that he's not producing enough as a 2nd round pick, it's more that maybe having him, Kravstov, Lafreniere a little redundant?

they are top heavy with these kinds of wingers and maybe can package Kakko or Kravtsov and one of these young defenseman to fill the hole down the middle.

But I still think Kakko will have a great career

- jimbro83

Does anyone think Kakko can learn the snarl we need? He's a big dude. Might just take some training and the greenlight to be a Richard.

Outclassed in playoff bubble against Carolina...and outclassed by Isles when games really mattered. I think it's safe to say that our expectations for this team will increase big time next season. I have a feeling that NYR's brass feel the same way, and subsequently will address the needs of this team via FA and/or trades. Need a nice mix of Torts's "Black/Blue Rangers" and AV's more finesse team

they need to be tougher to play aginst 100%

if it's this same roster, same top 3 down the middle plus some minor depth pieces - they'll go nowhere

Before you go into the rabbit hole, now might just be a good time to just put a pot of coffee on, for your own sanity

Oh, my coffee is made ready just after cleaning up the kitchen each night. I don't (frank) with the possibility of running low on caffeine!! Mid-grade stuff Mon-Fri. Pampering level quality for the weekends.

Agreed.

No way next year begins w/out major personnel changes. Having the youngest team in NHL can't be worn as a badge of honor. Some of the youngsters will have to be used to help forge a more "complete" team

Agree with everything you guys have stated this morning.
Need the toughness. Lemieux was supposed to be our sandpaper and that fell apart. On D we had He Who Is Not To Be Named. Once Miller fills out he should be a beast, and Lindgren doesn't take any poop.
Howden is likely gone with Barron taking his place. There's another player that is going to take time to adjust. Hopefully they get a camp and pre-season games next year.
As for bringing in a bonafide C, I'm fine with moving some prospects with a roster player like Chytil to make it happen.

I don't expect Panarin, Strome or Zib to be tough guys, but they can't be invisible during hard fought games. No reason they can't be fighting through checks and keep their feet moving and back checking. Kreider is a big puss. He NEEDS to be tougher and be a force out there. No excuses for him. Obviously, Tom Wilsons don't grow on trees, but having a few tougher guys who can skate and keep up with our skilled players need to be mixed in throughout the line up. Blackwell and Rooney are fine, but one or both of them need to be replaced with some tougher/physcial players.

Reiterating some statements made prior to the botched game last night to try to keep heads level:

- This season was not a failure by any means. Development and growth were
needed. I think we'd all agree that they did develop and grow, in some instances
exceeding expectations (Miller, Fox, Buch, maybe even Trouba, and Kakko in some
aspects)

- There's a lot to be excited about. They will be making decisions this summer from
a position of strength. They have the pieces needed to better the team, both
financial and personnel.

- After a terrible start Zib still looks like the 1C for this team and Panarin is just as
good as when he signed. Having two ultra high skilled players is needed to win at
the ultimate level.

Contract coming up, we’ll find out, don’t be the team that misses out
- KreiderBomb

He'll make more money in Florida and they've finally seemed to turn the corner and become a genuinely competitive team. I doubt he's dying to leave.

Too many ass clowns in here had way too much expectations for this team. Temper expectations to reality. You cant tear a team down, lose major players and then expect 18-21 yos to gel instantly. Development and chemistry is key. It takes a little time. Even DQ needs to gain NHL experience. This team had a really good year!!! There was a lot of adversity for the young players to handle and they did well. Next year will be disappointing if they dont make the playoffs.

Rangers first need is a young center to grow with the rest of these kids.

No Barkov isnt getting traded. Pipe dreams.

Every person on here today is saying the same thing.......some young players/prospects need to be traded to toughen up the team. NO ONE saying tear it down, you dumbasssssss. Most of us have tempered our expectations, but all feel that next season is where it is realistic to believe that the Rangers should be a playoff team.

Wow you better renew your Hook on Phonics subscription because I didnt say tear it down. Some ass clowns in here, including yourself was at City Hall pulling permits for the Parade down the Canyon Of Heroes for this year.

It is Highly doubtful the Rangers will trade any potential 50-60 point players for grit players. Those trades happen when the team is actually in contention. Teams that have those type of grit players that can actually play dont want to let them go.

Do we try and add Krecji? We definitely need to improve in the dot, We don’t need to think about bringing back Howden and others like PDG, Rooney could go either way and I’m not sure Gauthier will be here though I really think this kid has the tools and needs a fair shot
