He might get in eventually if no American goalie passes his win record. He also has a Vezina and an Olympic silver to his resume, but outside of that, I don't see it happening if we're already expecting Fleury, Loungo, and Lundqvist to be in the HoF one day.

No offence to anyone, but that would be an awfully low bar for the hall of fame.

No.

Classic compiler. Above average for a very long time but only one truly outstanding season. Aside from his 2009-10 Vezina win he only had one other season in his career where he got any Vezina votes period (4 GMs had him third on their ballot in 2007).

There are a ton of both current and retired goaltenders (including a couple who have been hall eligible for a decent length of time) who have much stronger cases.

Not the Hall of Very Good. US Hockey Hall of Fame? Sure. But THE Hockey HOF? No sir.

Sabres fan and I loved Miller when he played here, but I think he's a bit short everywhere of being in the hall.

Maybe if he won olympic gold, but he gave up an odd looking goal to the Kid.

Maybe if Buffalo had won the cup...but he lost a 2-1 lead in game 7 going into the third period against Carolina.

Maybe if he won two or three vezinas, but he won one.

Maybe if he had top 10 wins, but he is 14th.

All in all he was a very good goaltender, but this is a league full of very good goaltenders.

No, and it's not even close. There are people still clinging to the idea that MAF isn't going to get in. If you're not owner of individual hardware or any Cups, then you have to be absolutely special. Miller even at his peak wasn't "special." He goes into the Hall of Pretty Good

I'd say no.

he had one great season, and an incredible run in the olympics, but other than that he was only ever "pretty good".

Like someone else said.....for sure in the US hockey HOF (if there even is one, not sure), but not in the HHOF.

Definately the American Hockey Hall of Fame. Not really sure about the Biggin.

He was an excellent goalie, but he wasn't a generational goalie like Roy or Dryden or Parent. He was a very good goalie on some not so good teams, but that doesn't bail him out when you look at the bigger picture.

All that said, if you include his career in college and contribution to college hockey in the United States, his AHL, NHL and international career, there is a real case. BUT, I still think he is on the outside of the border...but I wouldn't be upset if he went in.

Not that I personally agree with this logic, but after the 1990 season there was an almost immediate flip of the switch. His production fell like a stone and never climbed remotely back up. He also has zero hardware and never was champion, if I recall. Just thinking of the arguments you'll run into.

man, those buffalo teams he played on in the late 2000's were REALLY good teams....maybe later in his career in Van and Anaheim, sure, but in his prime he played on top teams.

He was point per game player and had similar outputs to guys like Lecavalier and H.Sedin. Just an everlasting question as to the criteria's of getting into the Hall , given Ek brought up Miller.

I don't disagree, but it seems like goalie careers are getting shorter. There have been a lot of net minders who are considered 'excellent' for a short period of time and then fall apart. Compiling isn't sexy but there is something to be said for longevity. Not saying the HHOF is it, but there is something underrated about consistency.

I feel like people would generally in favor of Henrik Lundqvist and you looking at pretty comparable save percentages and GAA.

nope.I don't see him being up there with guys like Hasek, Fuhr, Roy, Broduer and Vachon. The only other guy elected in this century was Belfour and I have reservations about him being there. You'll probably see Luongo there next year but he's above Miller on my list too.
