Anthony Travalgia: Jets not ready to panic despite six straight losses With six straight losses, do you have confidence in the Jets?

The optimist would suggest it is better to have a loosing streak now than in the playoffs.

No panic? I think PoMo has exhausted himself out of ideas but still has words and cliches.

An article in the Sun also comments on Jordie Benn usage and the audition of Stanley, Heinola and Benn, and that the audition ship has most likely sailed for Heinola and Stanley.

That is true. I guess it depends on how the last 6 games go. Win 4 of the last 6, and people tend to forget about the losing streak. I don't think losing 4 will do much for confidence, especially when 5 of the last 6 are against non playoff teams,

Maybe the Jets shouldn't panic but Maurice should be. If we lose 7 in a row, i would like Pascal Vincent to finish the season as our intern head coach. Even if we make the playoffs, the failure to be creative and utilize everyone available to try and make this a better team should result in him being expendable if we have another first round loss. It's not 2015 anymore, just making the playoffs is not good enough anymore with this team and city being patient with their "draft and develop" strategy.

Its too late to fire Maurice which would have been the only chance the Jets would of had to do well in the playoffs.

I don’t believe it is too late to fire him.

Not a single player looks like they HATE losing right now, and that is as bad as it gets. Nobody has tried to spark this team.....well really we are so soft nobody can anyways.

This team has a 2-3 year window but not as it is currently assembled and coached.

Has Jordan Benn hit anyone yet?

I like seeing Jets stupidity called out by non-Winnipeg people.

Also, I can see from the practice lines that Maurice is no longer interested in being employed.

The Jets now have the 18th best league wide penalty kill. Two more spots to drop until it hits uncle Paul's safe zone of being in the bottom third of the league.

I don't mind DeMelo playing with a young guy like Stanley or Heinola, but if you are going to run out Benn every game switch DeMelo and Poolman.

In other news outside of our defense, Scott Billeck is reporting on Twitter that a decision is pending on which one of Harkins or Vesalainen is coming out of the lineup tomorrow with Lowry returning. They were 2 of the only players that looked like they wanted to play every game during this losing streak. Leave them both in and take Thompson out. Reward the kids for showing up. Let Harkins center the 4th line. It's the position he played every night with the Moose before earning his press box posting. How are the young guys going to get better if they prove too good for the Moose and then spend a season or 2 not playing so league minimum veterans on their way out of the league can play?

I want Lowry back, but find it hard to believe even with Maurice, that these are the 2 guys that need a seat? Probably someone in the top 6 would be more appropriate considering that lacklustre 6 games we’ve had to endure.

Based on talent evaluation practices employed by the Jets coaching staff, both Harkins and Vesalainen's birth certificates indicate that they are younger than Thompson and Lewis. No way are both guys getting in!

Harkins works hard and hits
Vasalainen has great size, finishes checks a s looks good.

Both guys deserve to play

If Matt Hendricks was here he’d be playing ahead of these two!

Absolute garbage that one of Vesalainen or Harkins will likely be coming out of the lineup, draft and develop my @$S!

I wish I had a crystal ball so I could see what happens to the coaching staff after they go out first round.

Btw, on another topic, we talk about Heinola and Samberg all the time. What about Chisholm? Take a look at his AHL season. Samberg is shutdown, Heinola will be the Enstrom type of player / brain but check out 5th rounder Chisholm quietly racking up points.

Tonight would be the ideal night for us to roll out: Scheifele-Dubois-Stastny-Lowry as our 4 centers. Especially against the last place Senators. This could also prove to be a catalyst for changing our season around.

Ideal lines for tonight:

Copp-Scheifele-Appleton
Connor-Dubois-Vesalainen
Harkins-Stastny-Wheeler
Perreault-Lowry-Lewis

Morrissey-Demelo
Heinola-Pionk
Stanley-Niku

This has been my constant gripe with this team over the last few years. I do blame Chevelallseasonoff for a big chunk of this mess. He is the GM and needs to take a stand on Uncle Paul’s coaching and become more involved in player development.

Samberg makes the odd bad pinch. He might of gotten away with those in college but he needs to learn the pro game a bit more. He will benefit from another year in the minors. Chisholm is a step behind Samberg's development. Johnny Kovacevic is almost ready and matched last year's points total with playing half the games. Lately he's been pouring on the offense with the power play time. Being 6'5", just imagine the wing span coverage if he was playing the right side to Logan Stanley.

Won't let me quote for some reason.

Chisholm

I've watched some Moose games and Chisholm has looked great with the Moose, really smooth skater, mobile and good puck skills, looks promising for sure.

I am really excited about Chisholm and Kovacevic. Hopefully both crack the big roster sooner than later. I am also hoping that Gustafson gets some action too. I think he’s definitely NHL ready!

Jets are really doing their best to avoid an Edmonton first round.

Great game by Morrissey though.

That is probably the most brilliant aspect of Uncle Paul’s master plan. Rather than taking first place in the division, he would rather slide to fourth and be unassuming in the playoffs in order to win the big prize!

If Stanley is in the press box next game I’m done with the Jets this season. He played like he hates losing....couple nice shots, good passing again, some big hits. Should be dressed every game a d he’s creeping up on Forbort IMO
