Michael Stuart: Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down: Lightning Steal Defeat from Jaws of Victory

Boring AF game to watch. I shut it off during the second intermission. I thought for sure it was going to be McElBackup that would eventually let a weak one through and cost the game. Instead, it was the Bolts offense shooting blanks and Greiss standing on his head. Greiss seems to have the Bolts' number this season. Well, it helps that Stamkos and Kucherov are sitting by the pool.

Give credit where credit is due. Detroit got dominated possession-wise, but they played just well enough to hang in there and steal two points. Greiss outdueled McElBackup and it's hard to get a win when your team poops the bed and drops a goose egg.

At this point, it's a foregone conclusion that Carolina is gonna win the division. I'm not even sure if the Bolts can catch the Cats for 2nd place.

If Stamkos and Kuch don't come back in game shape, the Bolts won't be going deep this year.

Looks like Tampa came to play today. Also looks like the refs are practicing for playoff hockey and put their whistles away. 2 obvious trips, this favors Tampa.
