Those accolades are great. I just don't agree with using nationality as a factor unless we're talking US HHOF - jcragcrumple
Its important when its about 19% usa players in the nhl i believe
And a usa goalie is lower if that number is correct |

It's disappointing to me that anyone would ever give Peters/Rivet a listen to begin with, then to keep coming back for more ? What the hell. I don't care if they were "the only game in town". Why would anyone give Peters - the worst player in NHL history - a chance ? I'd rather listen to nothing, which is what I did when these clowns first got this gig. And yes, I mean clowns in a bad way. Clowns are horrible. - kritter65

Definitely deserves that much. The olympic mvp should be enough considering how few Americans get it.
That 06-07 season, he went 40-16-6 in 63 appearances...miraculous. Stacked team for sure, but he was so dominant.
Do you retire his number? Seems a little overboard, but have heard it tossed around. |

I agreed with both of them
He is a 9 yeah Pro Goalie, been a good soldier all season on the taxi squad, between quarantine and the travel, give him a start in a season where there is nothing to play for.
Do right by the player, who cares if he gets light up like a Christmas tree. He can say he played a game in the show. - Stripes77

Florida retired Luongo's number
So there's the precedent if you want it |

I was originally all about adding Hamilton, however with EW's contract forecast in the $9m range depending on term, I just can't see that.
I'd rather take Savard for less than 50% at ~$4m.
IMO, signing him and resigning McCabe (dependent on health status).
The following combinations pair a terrific puck mover with a stout defensive defenseman which I believe is the optimal combination.
In scenarios where a lock down defense is required to close out a game with a narrow lead, then the coach can pair Savard with McCabe...
•Dahlin - Savard...turn Dahlin loose
•McCabe - Joker
•Bryson - Borgen
Also, those combo's alternate the side of the puck mover, giving the coach flexibility as needed to combat opponents threats from either side. |

Referring to the cap friendly posting, how does Hamilton get 8 years from the Sabres? He is not on the roster so did the term rules change for next year? If not, then I would question the predictions.
In addition, someone that big and at 27 and wanting to pay him into his mid 30s? Don't we already have this crap and nonsense salary stuff on the roster already? 8 years in as a defenseman with over 550 games played. I would stay away at that term. - TC4145
The combined prediction of Hamilton signing a 7 or 8 year deal is near 90%. The point is he'll want a max length deal with whatever team he signs with.
He's also pretty damn good. |

I'm torn. He did a lot for this franchise. He also wasn't here for as long as I would've liked to consider retiring. |

Lack of a cap increase is going to bite into what he can get, I think.
Still, yeah, he's due a big raise. That's a big part of why the Canes didn't add any money during the season and dumped Dzingel like they did. Clearing cap space for next season because they have to sign Hamilton AND Svechnikov.
