he and samuelsson punked the panarin line the other day too

i just hate him. so much. all the tools in the world. why couldn't he just put it all together!!!!!!!!!!

Good post. And I get the knucklehead plays....

I like his effort, always have.
Doesn't mean he's the best player of our generation.

As soon as someone (dahlin) can step into that #1 defenseman, hopefully they move him down.

I'm not paying viking55 6.5- 7 million a year.....

think we're going to see a lot of things like that. flat cap is going to put a hard squeeze on a lot of teams. Anyone with a little space is going to be able to grab some good mid-range guys for dirt cheap.

They're not. They don't do this for the on ice product. Unless of course you're up against the cap. But the two of them should be smart enough to 'keep your own good players'

Me too. I really like the idea of Savard paired with Dahlin. In fact he'd be my top priority followed by reilly and hyman
- Michael Pachla

How about Nick Foligno? What's the cost?
UFA, brings leadership, size, toughness and lineage...

5 years 5.5 -6.5 million?

Also savard and blake Coleman.

Why would he sign a 3 year deal when he can just sign a 1 year deal to hit UFA

Sam isn’t going to sign anymore bridge deal he isn’t going to do us any favors he knows buffalo was going to take hall over him

Its either payme long term / sign 1 year / trade me

Yup and he will regress as soon as he cashes in, It's the buffalo way.

Either way I hate long term contracts. Especially when Terrance pegula hands them out. I can't think of one that ended well.

Joker/Dahlin pairing really sored after Ralph left, but yeah, think he's better with a more steadying presence there. Not sure I'd argue with priority either as the defense is the most glaring position of need. That being said, Reilly could be very impactful at a cheaper price if he can keep this up. Dk which I would pick considering cap hits.

Jeff Skinner played two shifts in the third period in an effort to 'shorten the bench' for the players that provided the most impact to be out there and apparently there's not a lot of kickback. It's like he gets lazy when he's stuck with bad players.

Why sign him if we can just wait to give that contract to Looch when his contract is up?

Our new Okposo

When he gets back on Jack's wing next year he better score 25 at least or we're in big trouble.

Might be a crazy thought :

Sam being away from jack (on and off the ice) may be the reason for Sam's break out season?

Playing center definitely uses his cerebral skills, and his speed really isnt that noticable (on tv) . Right place at the right time.

The "rumors" involving the bike buddies seems very realistic.

Screwed up big time .

Hate to say it if those are the numbers we have to trade him we wont be able to be cup contender When you have guys making 8+

- gerbe75pts

People keep saying they screwed up. The year prior to his 2 yr deal was Jekyll/Hyde. He came on strong at the end but there were questions as to which Sam we were getting

Of course. But Reinhart is a strong enough top 6 (top 10 in NHL in goals) to pay him a fair 6.5ish salary.

Trading Risto, demoting Eakin and Okposo saves you over 7.6M. Forcing Seattle to take Miller saves another 3.6. That's over 11M in cap space for Dahlin and Sam, and right now they total 4.5ish. Means you probably need another 7-8 to cover them both.

(frank)in nailed it.

He really turned out to be a poop head. I liked his tenacious play a lot when he arrived.

When a players production falls off a cliff for multiple years. He should be cut without penalty to the team. I'm sure that's a bit drastic but something needs to be put in place.

What a bummer!

He typically provides positive play on the ice, but yes the guy needs to do something in the box score.

Whoever the next hire is needs to be the guy who can reach Jeff.

I like reider and think he's a great 4th liner for the team.

Other than that, I'm off a bit on hyman compared to eh although i think almost 7m is way too high. Savard at less than 2m seems very low.

The 2nd most likely predicted deal for Hyman is 4 years at $5.4M per.

Savard's 2 year deal is pegged at $2.9m per and his 3 year deal is pegged at $3.5M per.

I don't want Rieder blocking Asplund or Ruotsalainen when both have shown a greater on ice impact to me over Rieder.
