When he's motivated he plays with a tenacity that's a lot of fun to watch. They're stuck with him, and they need to figure out how to get a portion of his contract worth of play out of him. And I'm only blaming Jeff, in case there's a bad opinion in here that thinks otherwise.
- TheSabresTaco

Pretty much. Gotta find a way to get more out of him than this.

The 2nd most likely predicted deal for Hyman is 4 years at $5.4M per.

Savard's 2 year deal is pegged at $2.9m per and his 3 year deal is pegged at $3.5M per.

I don't want Rieder blocking Asplund or Ruotsalainen when both have shown a greater on ice impact to me over Rieder.

- kingcong39

Fair enough. There's no reason to get into a long, drawn out discussion over 3 players who aren't that much different than each other

Coleman at 4. X 4.5 is definitely worth the value in my opinion.

I hope they extend Viking55. I think the team knows he should be Captain. I do too.

He typically provides positive play on the ice, but yes the guy needs to do something in the box score.

Whoever the next hire is needs to be the guy who can reach Jeff.

- TheSabresTaco

As you say, needs to amount to something.

We should really put to bed the “complimentary player” angle or “passenger” for Reinhart

He’s one of the best players in the league right now

- sbroads24

What's wrong with being an upper echelon complementary player?

Saw a rumor that says Ertz will get released with a post June 1 designation. This allows the Eagles to only retain 4.2M in dead cap instead of the current 7.7M. However, the Eagles, until June 2nd, must keep Ertz's full 12.7M cap.

Rather make a run at Hurst, Falcons declined his 5th year option.

While I agree, I'm sick of paying 'leaders' to not be able to play too. I don't need John Tavares to join Buffalo, but what about a guy like Landeskog, who will never leave Colorado in his prime, but someone along those lines.
- TheSabresTaco

You really think foligno isnt able to pay?

He received a 1st and a 4th for a 1 stanley cup run?
Admittedly, I didn't realize he was 33 . Thought he was a few years younger.

Be realistic, lando isn't coming to buffalo, unless it's for eichel.

Buying leadership hasnt worked out.
Bad choices. Moulson, okposo

That would be for 22-23 though. Declining his option means he's a free agent next year.

"being able to play" is a loose definition in this context. He's a third line caliber player, 30+ player who provides defensive play and complimentary offense. I'm not giving that guy a big term or number. His leadership is likely his top quality.

3ER. This is an outstanding post

I appreciate the post. My understanding was the " leadership" or "letter" is very important to viking55.

There are so many guys that bring absolutely ZERO, to this team. Skimmer being the worst, okposo.....

My gut says these EW projections fall short for the middle class and lower class. But for guys like Landeskog, Ovie and maybe Hall, they'll still get their money.
