It looks like the Central 2v3 will be TB vs FL, only question is who’s 2. These two finish the season with 2 in Sunrise.
Carolina pretty much has the division in their grasp, it would seem. Nashville w/inside track to fourth. These two finish season with two in Nashville (I think).
Both series should wind up being pretty intense, right from game 1. There will already be things brewing
Edit: whoops, this was supposed to go on the Panthers page. I’ll leave it though as I know some of ya are now on to Tampa for playoffs.

skunk playing well at center and the club re-signing him changes the entire dynamic of the forward group...new potential roster with miller in seattle, risto traded to the kings for picks, eakin waived ($1.125m caphit), okposo on ltir and dylan guenther as the sabres top-3 pick this year:
dahlin (6) d. savard (4.25)
m. reilly (4) joker (1.75)
bryson (889k) borgen (900k)
john merrill (950k)
ullmark (4.25)
dreiger (2.25)
total cap-hit: 72.875m
have at it - Michael Pachla
Interesting names as new additions.
As far as current Sabres moving forward next season and beyond with the Sabres, there are several players on this roster I would move on from and replace:
-Tage Thompson, he has improved under Granato and seems more focused on playing an NHL Game...good on him. However, I still just don't see a very productive player. I want more.
- Viktor Olofsson, he isn't a 2nd liner IMO, and maybe even a poor 3rd liner. Yes, he scores alot on the PP...but only when Eichel is giving him saucy passes where he has a wide open net. At $3m I could live within the3rd line if he can pot 15+ on the PP. I'd rather leverage him in a trade...which also opens a spot on L3 for Routso at a cheaper rate.
-Bjork, hands like feet. At $1.6m on line 4 I'd be just ok with him. Maybe he could pot 10 off his ass.
Giggleson, Asplund makes him redundant, at 1/3rd the price tag. Find the team his agent said that had an interest for more money...then trade him...get something, anything.
So, with Tage, Giggles, Olofsson and Bjork gone, replaced by Routsolainen and Asplund...they can acquire an upgrade for the 3LW as Guenther moves up to 2RW.

I think 4/6 of those - and perhaps 5/6 - will be on the 23-man roster next year
I'm sure people don't believe it but the Sabres truly aren't that far away from being highly competitive. Two goalies, Eichel and McCabe-or-equal plus two shrewd trades and this is a pretty good playoff team.
They really don't suck. Krueger sucked and the injuries suck
Probably right.
Then they'll wonder why they can only average 2.1 G/Gm. - IonSabres
Theyre playing competitive hockey with Sam Reinhart at 1C and Doogie Houser in goal. I really think they're on the right track. Admittedly that sounds insane coming off this season which is probably the most disappointing in franchise history

And the divisional format. That too - jcragcrumple

That was said last season as well.
I don't necessarily disagree that pulling off those moves makes them significantly better.
McCabe replacement, 2 Goalies plus 2 shrewd trades is 5 guys. That is ~ 25% turnover though...more than a little work.

I'd re-sign McCabe and Ullmark which is two moves
Move 3: Bring in either the Florida goalie, one of the CBJ goalies or Freddy Andersen
Two trades further. I think it's a pretty reasonable offseason to-do list and I really believe they'll be pretty good
