Maybe move okposo for one of those better 30 point players that are better than 50 point player's?
- Boss34

What about one of those 15 point players that’s actually better than one of those 30 point players? By logic that player blows the 50 point player out of the water.

send him and the second to the sens for a 7th
- homiedclown

Yep, sens have a fast, young core of developing leaders.

They're in the market for an old slow injury prone power forward at 6 million per. To help a division foe.

That 2nd though.......

Okposo + a 2nd for Miko Koskinen.

Bury him in Rochester as the third goalie

At least he would serve a purpose

- sbroads24

And when Edmonton replies with the following, what do you say?

We want the Bruins 2nd round pick AND one of Ryan Johnson or Oskari Laaksonen to take Okposo for Koskinen and a 5th round pick.

Doubt any of them are enough value
- jdfitz77

I think another team would take Okposo in an instant if Buffalo said Casey Mittelstadt was being included in that deal.

Why people just want to toss away first and 2nd round picks to just get rid of kyle is confusing

Just have him on the 4th line and just deal with it
Its not like hes holding us back

I didn’t mean that Karmanos being here was trivial
But i still think there’s an order to the chain of command

What happens when they disagree- flip a coin?
I doubt it

I would say, “hell no!”

Why would i give up a 2nd & Johnson or Mitts or whoever, in order to take back Kostkinen who counts for $4.5mil of Cap,
when i can buy out Okposo & have him count for $5mil on the Cap & i get to keep whatever pick(s)
&/or player(s) it would cost to get rid of him?????

F#ck that noise
I’ll just buy Okposo out & not give up anything

Kostkinen cap hit- 4.5mil, 3.5ish if he’s buried

OR

Buy out Okposo & the Cap hit is $5mil for next year

So you’re giving up that high 2nd for around $1.5mil in Cap Room

NO THANKS
Giving up good pick(s) &/or young players to get rid of him makes ZERO sense

I’d rather buy out Okposo than give up Mitts to get rid of him

We aren’t competing fit the Cup any time soon anyways....
so I’d rather waste the Cap Space for a year,
than give up a talent that can help us moving forward

Paying a team to take Okposo would be dumb imo

Looks like the only team we have to worry about now, standings-wise, is Anahiem.

Isn’t it quite possible that teams just aren’t willing to give us value back for Risto or Miller- or whatever other RH defenseman u want gone?
- jdfitz77

2 questions
- is it better to hold onto a moderately paid asset and not play him very much, or trade him for below your value and acquire a useable asset?
- is your valuation of an asset proper if no one is willing to buy?

ANA GP 53 - 39 Pts

BUF GP 54 - 37 Pts

We play the Pens twice...I doubt we're getting any points there. Ducks play the Blues tonight, then the Wild twice. You would think we have this in the bag (totally just jinxed us right there, sorry).

However, should we somehow end up tied in points, does anybody know the tie-breakers ?

I believe the tiebreaker is regulation wins.

That said, I hope Buffalo sweeps the Penguins as the last 2 games have been fun to watch.

That's true. It's been nice since Ralph went bye-bye.

And we're playing the role of spoiler very nicely. I've read a lot of the opposing teams GDT threads at HF Boards and that makes for some EXCELLENT reading, by the way. It's hilarious reading the meltdowns going on in those threads. Check out the last 2 Islanders GDT's over there for a good laugh.

Checked and the Sabres and Ducks are ties with a pathetic 11 regulation wins. If the 2nd tiebreaker is regulation plus overtime wins, the Ducks have 15 total regulation plus overtime wins while the Sabres have still not won a game in overtime (unreal).

Time to give the backup goalie a couple of starts...to add to the feel good stories.

One of the best teams in the league and they're ready to tear it all down. Bunch of (frank)ing clowns. They want to can Trotz and trade for Doogie.

Tell you what. We'll trade Doogie for Trotz.

I like Donnie G The Don and how he has this team playing.
We have had a couple GMs and Coaches say they want an up-tempo, fast, attacking team...then go out and acquire and play old slow vets and insist on a slow it down, all-defense, all-the-time style.

Part of the allure of Gallant is his, us against the world mantra to get the players to buy-in. Donnie already has the full buy-in. Check the box. He is knowledgeable, has a feel for the game, players and fans.
Sign the guy up ...sure interview others, but they have warts too.

I'll gladly keep the guy who has players motivated to play hard even though they are likely finishing last...or 30th in any event.
