Kostkinen cap hit- 4.5mil, 3.5ish if he’s buried

OR

Buy out Okposo & the Cap hit is $5mil for next year

So you’re giving up that high 2nd for around $1.5mil in Cap Room

NO THANKS
Giving up good pick(s) &/or young players to get rid of him makes ZERO sense

- jdfitz77

Then buy him out

It’s absolute lunacy to pretend this guy has to be on the roster next season.

There are back room deals and favors done by teams/GM’s all the time

If they can’t figure out a way to deal with it so that he’s not taking a spot of a solid young player they are absolutely inept and it’s crazy to say otherwise

And when Edmonton replies with the following, what do you say?

We want the Bruins 2nd round pick AND one of Ryan Johnson or Oskari Laaksonen to take Okposo for Koskinen and a 5th round pick.

- kingcong39

That’s completely unrealistic so I’d say no.

Time to give the backup goalie a couple of starts...to add to the feel good stories.

Why not

ANA GP 53 - 39 Pts

BUF GP 54 - 37 Pts

We play the Pens twice...I doubt we're getting any points there. Ducks play the Blues tonight, then the Wild twice. You would think we have this in the bag (totally just jinxed us right there, sorry).

However, should we somehow end up tied in points, does anybody know the tie-breakers ?

- kritter65

we just beat the islanders back to back with our 6th string goalie

nothing is a given

You can also look at it from the other perspective - he was playing well before he got hurt. I don't think he is necessarily a problem.

I think if there is one thing that this season has showed us is that Skinner might be dead after all. He is about the only guy that looked like arse under both coaches. They take him off of 23's line and all of the sudden the line looks electric. Hopefully playing with Jack can get him going again but that's really iffy.

I know. The losses to the Pens were more of a wishful thinking thing on my part. I feel bad hoping we lose to them...this current squad has actually been watchable. It's sure been fun watching the youngins finally reaching that potential. But I'm torn - I'd REALLY like the best odds at first overall.

HOWEVER, thinking about it more clearly, is there even a consensus first overall pick this year ? Seems like it could be a few guys and it might be better to get 2nd overall.

his base salary is 2 mil and 4 mil for the last 2 years

if the sabres retained half of salary, in essence they would get him for free

with a pick

there is zero excuses why the sabres can't move him to the wings or sens

Unless the Wings or Sens say no thanks, we don't want him.

Then there is a reason.

Connor Knapp, with Matt Hackett on the taxi squad. We need to fix past failures.

One more regulation loss seals it.

Sabres have to go 2-0 and Ducks would have to lose all three

IM not giving up picks to move Okposo. Convince him to go on LTIR, or just retire

Use picks to move skinner with 25% retained.

Assuming the Sabres pay his $2M bonus for the 21-22 season first, right?

He actually got Eakin to score a goal last night. Maybe Skinner isn't completely out of magic yet.

Skinner is immovable. Why would another owner sign off on paying him 6 mill a year in this scenario?

He also has the same amount of primary EV pointszzssss as Mittelstadt, one more than Cozens and the same as Olofsson

No one should really care that he doesn’t get a bunch of secondary PP assists

CapFriendly shows just under $31M cap space with the following player decisions to be made:

RFA - Dahlin, Jokiharju, Borgen, Reinhart, Asplund, Mittelstadt
UFA - Ullmark, McCabe, Rieder, Caggiula, Sheahan, Irwin, Hutton, Houser
