2 questions
- is it better to hold onto a moderately paid asset and not play him very much, or trade him for below your value and acquire a useable asset?
- is your valuation of an asset proper if no one is willing to buy?

- IonSabres

Maybe we aren’t being offered “usable assets” for the defensemen u guys wanna get rid of

Cozens hurt? Or maybe grueling haul of nhl schedule catching up to him in his first season?

Then buy him out

It’s absolute lunacy to pretend this guy has to be on the roster next season.

There are back room deals and favors done by teams/GM’s all the time

If they can’t figure out a way to deal with it so that he’s not taking a spot of a solid young player they are absolutely inept and it’s crazy to say otherwise

- sbroads24

Ok
But buying him out would have to be approved by the Pegulas
If they won’t approve it, there’s nothing Adams can do about it

Or he's just 19 years old and he's going to have growing pains?

He looked great going around that Islanders Dman last night for a scoring chance. Made him look silly.

The only issue or criticism I can really find to harp on with Granato is how badly we got bullied by the Bruins. The games vs. the rest of the division vs. the games against the Bruins are at a large disparity. We've played well from the very first whistle under Granato, yet the Bruins manhandled us and flat out dominated.

That's my biggest issue with him as a coach.

Right now, the biggest issue is the actual make-up of the NHL roster, or, the amount of NHL contracts versus roster spots.

Goaltending still the biggest issue.

his base salary is 2 mil and 4 mil for the last 2 years
if the sabres retained half of salary, in essence they would get him for free
with a pick
there is zero excuses why the sabres can't move him to the wings or sens

- homiedclown

It’s stupid to give up anything of value to get rid of him
We aren’t competing for the Cup next year regardless
Hell, we’ll be lucky to be competing for the playoffs

Unless the Wings or Sens say no thanks, we don't want him.

Then there is a reason.

Yes, very good play. Just seems like he’s getting a bit fatigued.
His minutes are slipping too. Gotta be tough. I’m sure there was a lot of training before the WJ and he logged huge minutes then straight to NHL basically next day

Yeah, I'm sure he's physically and mentally drained at this point.

Obviously Coleman & Hamilton
But i don’t think either are signing here without a massive overpay
And even with them, we aren’t competing for the Cup next year
Even the playoffs wouldn’t be a sure thing

Your scenario is much more simple than reality

Just for Cinco

If I could go back in a delorian to 2014 I’d pick the following over Sam Reinhart in the first round

Leon
Nylander
The Great Dane
Fiala
Larkin
Pasternak

To be honest with you ...... with the amount of games that have been played in such a short period of time

I wonder .... not just Sabres wise. How many teams have enough gas in the tank to win the cup.
