He's a (frank)ing scumbag.

Suspend him for the entire playoffs. Hit him and his team where it hurts.

Burtal, even. If I'm Strome there I break my stick across his back, then punch him in the back of the head for good measure.

I find it baffling that you think point totals don't matter.
- ImThatGuy

I find it baffling that in 2021 people still think it’s a great way to evaluate a player.

Jacob Bryson has a point tonight

He passed a puck 5 feet to his right

Mad skillzzzzz

On a game by game basis, yea its dumb, but you seem to want to do that every time someone mentions Skinner not producing and say GOLZ, POINTS TONIGHTS GAME LOOK AT IT AHHHHH.

He hasn't produced for 2.5 Years now. HE is a detriment to this teams ability to pay talent going forward.

EDIT - Brining up expected goals for, is also really dumb.

Also, also usually the best players in the league are the one that produce the most points for their team. Just a coincidence though i assume.

A lot.

He does a ton of little things that lead to chances and goals.

It’s not a coincidence that his line always scores goals. Always

Lazar and Sheahan have like 2 goals combined since Skinner isn’t on their line.

Larsson produced with him

He made Victor Rask and Derek Ryan a poop load of money.

Its not a coincidence

- sbroads24

and these are things that are seen in point totals....

Aren't you trying to point out what he brings that isn't easily seen? And more recently?

I mean Bryson could have shot the puck into somebody’s shin pads and had it deflect into the neutral zone too.

Not really. You only think that because to you points rule all.

There are a ton of 30 point guys who are a ton better than 50 point guys

Yes. All the elite players will lead their teams in points

Is it not interesting, or does it not fit a narrative.

I find it fascinating, that you some will point to everything else, and when asked about actually producing, they go into deflection mode and point out other players random stats.

Skinner is a huge problem, and as long as he is on this team scoring 10 goals a year, the Sabres will be bad.

His line mates benefited in the points column. Skinner has a unique game.

He makes his line better (this is undeniable) but somehow usually doesn’t get rewarded on the score sheet.

That being said his production is inexcusable this season

because not a single soul in the entire world is trying to say he is producing, or that he is adequately paid

when anyone tries to bring up the things he does do well you just start screaming about his point totals

He needs to produce more goals. Period. I agree

I don’t give two flying (frank)s if he has some more secondary assists to beef up his point totals.

I have not once said anything of that.

He does draw penalties, he does do things well.
He should be moved any chance you get.

There was a reason Carolina moved on from him.

He had a great contract year and regressed so badly.

He's going to continue to regress as he ages.

I would literally trade him for Zach Parise at this point.

Off the top of my head? No

Who’d you rather have, 80-90 point Johnny Gaudreau, or 65-70 point Mark Stone?

The answer is easy

That’s actually interesting

Stone is on a 100 point pace this year

He waited until he was 28 years old to be this good

Has nothing to do with line mates scoring more than usual, their PP being better than it was before, quality of competition

You know, things that Stone doesn’t control that effect those totals

14 point Johan Larsson or 37 point Sam Cryfart the answer is easy.
