I hope Rathbone can provide 1/10th of what Schmidt does! Then we will have another solid piece on our way to an inevitable Benning led championship

Power, Edvinsson, Clarke, Beniers, McTavish
Johnston, I believe is the most skilled, but a little soft.

Have you seen Eklund play at all? I wonder if he's a center or wing?

That McTavish kid is huge - Power or Clarke would be home runs. I believe Can v Swe is at 4pm today.

Also, do you know if Luke Hughes plays offensively like Quinn or if he actually plays defense? I've seen him quite high on most draft boards.

Oil sucks dude😗
- onesmallleap

Ouch man. I don't think they have the depth to go all the way but they might win a round. WPG needs to get their sh!t together they look as bad as we do right now.

For what it's worth, Quinn said Luke is more capable defensively than he is due to his size and reach, but that he has similar offensive instincts.

Wtf are you talking about? We arguably have the nicest, most sportsmanlike core in the league 🤷‍♂️
- CanuckDon

I don't know man...core looks good from this angle...

Yesterday we are trading Miller and now our core sucks...lol

The way I see it, is that you have 2 options with Miller.

1. You find a way to dump Eriksson, LTIRetire Beagle at the end of season(reports are that he is not going to be healthy next season) and probably LTIRetire Roussell(same knee he had surgery on, probably too much of a risk for him to play again on it) and use that spare 12m to improve your top 4 and change your forward group to match what Vegas does. 3 lines and a grinding line that doesn't see the ice unless you are up a goal, and they just hit and wear down other teams 2nd and 3rd line. Roll something like:
X - EP - Boeser
Hogger - Bo - Podk
Pearson - Miller - X(Lind?)
X(gadj?) - X - Mackewan

12m is used to upgrade all X's. Maybe even put Podk with Ep and Brock and find the upgrade for Bo.

2. Trade Miller at an all time high as he has proven to be a top line player and should yield more than we gave up. Those assets should be ready in 1-2 years when JB see's us competing and will come in with an extremely valuable ELC. Get high picks for 1-2 years that will also help us when we are ready.

A month ago, Canucks GM Jim Benning said that Pettersson was seeing a specialist and suggested that he was close to a return.

“I don’t think he’s that far away from playing,” said Benning, “but it’s getting the okay that his injury’s healed and he’s 100% and then we’ll go from there.”

Evidently, Pettersson’s visit with a specialist did not go as hoped. Benning then provided an update on Pettersson with much less optimism.

“He went to see the specialist on Wednesday,” said Benning. “He’s on the ice skating now and stuff, he’s going to continue to rehab, but we don’t have a timeline yet as to when he’s going to be back, if he’s going to be back at all.”

Please God, I hope he is not the GM next season.

Well we have Trevor Linden to blame for this mess, I suggest you start focusing your anger there.

Why? He was fired for his incompetence. Much like JB needs to be fired for his incompetence. I can’t ask for more than that.

On a good team, Hoglander would be a 3rd line player.
