When Carter came in, Blueger has been given easier assignments. Carter is taking the bulk of the d-zone face-offs. Crosby's line has been assigned the checking role. Blueger was given Rodrigues and Zucker these last several games. I'm reading a lot of love how these two have been playing great. What has Blueger done?

Scored goals, faught, won faceoffs and helped in both ends of ice.. Certainly didn't harm the on ice product that Im aware of.

Keep McCann on the top unit but no harm in working Malkin for a different look if they go cold. MCcann has been great, Geno needs to earn his spot back.

The reason they want to force the Zucker connection is to have some balance with a guy who will play a grittier game. I like McCann-Malkin-Kapanen but that I'd a line I could see getting dominated physically in the playoffs.

I'm kind of in favour of giving a 2nd unit a bit more time... If they did that there's no reason McCann couldn't be a weapon there with Carter and others

Edit - Both players are over 50% in offensive zone faceoff starts since Carter was acquired. Blueger was at 25% in offensive zone faceoff starts coming into the 10 games since Carter became a Pen.
Teddy has 3 goals and 2 assists in those 10 games. Carter has 4 goals and 2 assists. I mean, it really isn't something to claim he should be the odd man out. He is a 4th line center with great penalty kill ability producing at half a point per game. That's pretty damn good.

He’s very clearly one of our top nine best forwards. Weird to me someone would suggest otherwise.

I agree. Looking forward he is someone the Pens should definitely protect as well. Now, Frank the flyers!

Pretty dead here for a game night... I haven't been around much 3 or 4 few weeks, quite possibly busiest month of life haha... I have popped in for a one and done dumb comment here and there, about it...

Anyone who thought this would be an easy game tonight were kidding themselves... Flyers were definitely going to give this their all.. Like pretty much any other time they play the Pens haha

Thats too bad, save of the year candidate right there if he had kept it out.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more impressive non-save.

Philly always gives pens some grief. Doesn’t matter if they are good or not.

1st line is struggling defensively. Not winning enough battles or races.

Lousy effort in this period. Flyers are dead men walking and this is the effort so far? 🤮

I'm starting to think Sid might need a few games to rest. He's been pretty ghostly as of late.
