Hahaha PDO or not, they were a disjointed mess for a lot of that last night. They were not in sync like we've seen.
- MattStrat

It's also not the first time we've seen them like this while Geno has been out. They were also very much in synch when he got injured.

I’m infinitely more concerned about Crosby than Malkin right now. We know that McCann-Carter-Zucker line is good and a capable second line. If Malkin struggles to get into form, we can just ease up his deployment, put whoever on his left wing, and use the old Carter unit as the second line. That’s what we did in 2015 when he got hurt against CBJ and came back at only about 65%. That Zucker unit isn’t HBK, obviously, but it’s good.

But if the Crosby unit is out of gas, it’s pretty much over for us. There’s nothing we can really do about it.

I agree...but maybe Sid is just pacing himself now with the playoffs locked, knowing more energy will be needed in a few weeks...this is wishful thinking obviously. I too share the concerns of a cooked Sid.

Is it possible Tom Wilson was roid ragging last night? I've read things over the years about the Caps and steroid use, no idea if true or not of course. I do think the league's doping testing system is lacking to non existent though.

I mean we almost have a week off because of the extra covid games. The Sid unit should be fine.

I'm already over the Zuck/Geno revisit. The top 6 were probably the worst of the forwards to my eyes last night.

Its almost playoff time so I guess its time for maddening Sully decisions. Watch that same top 6 remain in tact this evening.

They went 8-10 CF/CA, 2 GA
Sid's line went 5-20 CF/CA, 3 GA

Sid's line got smoked.

As someone else pointed they have a week off when the regular season is over. I think that time off will give him time to charge his battery and refresh. He looks absolutely sapped.

If he we’re playing in Vegas he definitely wouldn’t do that poop. Basically Reaves and Gudbranson are the only two guys in the league that tame him. He eats the penguins alive.
- Grinder47

Wilson doesnt want any smoke with Ross Johnston either. Trotz does a good job when Wilson gets running around he throws Johnston out there against him and the gloves dont come off so easily then haha

They don’t HAVE to do anything. I don’t think he gets one game, but if they do “throw the book at him” it would probably be the remainder of the regular season at most which is basically useless at this point.
- Rinosaur

I disagree. They do HAVE to do something drastic.

It's too much with Wilson. Beyond ending someone's career, he might kill someone with dirty poop like he pulled last night.

If you don't have the balls to suspend him for pulling a guy by the hair and slamming his head on the ice, just drug test him. I would be shocked if he wasn't sauced up anyways. If he is not, he is the most incredibly mentally unstable athlete I have ever seen.

I hope you’re right. I just have no faith in the NHL. I know he got a seven game suspension earlier this year, but I fully expect them to consider the time of year into how they rule.

This is far worse than what he did on Carlo, but because the playoffs start soon I think they don’t do much.

Cooke was a dirty (frank), but the Pens drew a line with him. The Caps should act accordingly.

EDIT: The Caps fined Wilson $5K. Laughable. That’s like $100 to a regular person.

Fined, not suspended. I seriously thought he was going to get the rest of the regular season.

Yeah fined 5k by the league. The max allowed under the collective bargaining agreement.

That was for roughing Buchnevick. They had better have an in person hearing for what he did to Panarin.

If he doesn't get something big, I think you will hear players start to call out the league on it.

I agree he needs a hearing for the whole poop show from last night. We are talking about the NHL DOPS though. One that is run by George Parros. Do you really have faith anything more is to come of this? I don't
