What a poop amount of time off before the playoffs. What we’ll we do....

I, for one, intend to practice my yelling at the refs so it's playoffs ready.

You have to yell loud enough for the Leafs situation room to hear you

Is there a link to all this nastiness?

I can't find it, but there is a slo-mo video of Wilson grabbing whats his face by the hair, pulling him down backwards, and bouncing his head off the ice.

Dude needs to sit a season.

Nice 'defending' by Nylander on the Caufield goal.. (puckwatching again).
And Campbell back to his old self again - a solid backup, but definitely not a NHL starting goalie.

I really hate that Leafs might end up playing the Jets instead of the Habs in the first round. A playoffs series vs the Jets is as interesting as the weather in Winnipeg.

Campbell was pretty good all game, what game did you watch? The tieing goal granted wasnt awesome, but come on.

Reading the comments here, you'd think he'd low bridged the guy. Wilson gave him a love tap when he was down. He rag dolled Panarin cuz the guy jumped on his back.

Not you Jones, but all these other people, crying like a bunch of flunkies who worked in some government safe space.

- MisterBrown

Don't get me wrong, I think Tom Wilson deserves a suspension for the shots to Buchnevich's head while he was on the ice but the reactions here have been so incredibly precious it makes me laugh. "Look how aghast I am at that mongrel", he exclaimed while clutching his pearls tightly.

Panarin learned why there are weight classes in the UFC. He gave up 50lbs and about 5 inches.

I will be practicing my yelling at our defencemen to shoot from the point on the powerplay.

Tom Wilson eh

7 games?

- TheMussel

I'm biased because I can't stand him, but I'd be in the 15-20 range - just to keep sending a message. Next time make it more. This crap has to stop. The NHLPA at some point should be involved asking itself, why would we protect one member who goes out of his way to injure the other members?

It's Matt Cooke all over again, except more violent and ugly.

Campbell has been really good the last few ...we need him. My only beef was that he was paying to much attention to the screen on the OT goal rather than focusing on the shooter.

The Leafs were also really good for the first two periods ...then a little lacklustre in the 3rd. At 5v5 the Leafs kept the Habs outside and really limited anything. One PP goal and one nice 3v3 snipe.

Bottom line - we lacked some finish.

Agreed. He made some stellar saves, particularly on the PK. That game doesn't go to OT if we have any of the other goalies we've had in net this year playing.

When people want to make the Fred vs. Campbell comparisons, I don't want to get into directly comparing the two, but what we've been asking Fred for over the past two years was this - make some big saves. Excusing every goal as "not the goalies' fault" is semi-fair because most of the time the team in front could have suppressed the chance, but ALL teams have breakdowns, and that's where the goalie has to make a big save. All you really want is maybe 3 or 4 a game, because that's all you should need. Campbell has brought that. With the Leafs' offense, that should normally be enough.

Thursday another WSH-NYR game.
Not sure if Rangers have a few goons in their lineup, but they should definitely go after the players that stepped up to defend Wilson.
at a certain point of time, the teammates should just step away and leave it to 3-4 guys on the opposing team to give the guy what he deserves.
As long as team mates continue to defend Tom Wilson's absurd behaviour, Tom Wilson will continue with his absurd behaviour.
Take away the instigator rule, and let the players self-regulate.

It’s been 24 hours since shot number 2 of Pfizer. So far no reaction at all...hoping it stays that way.

Counterpoint: If Rielly shoots the puck on the Powerplay, he is almost guaranteed to be the last man in an umbrella formation, and wristing it into a guy's skates, leading to a 2 on 0 the other way.

Even though he has played better the past few games, I'm still not very pleased with his game overall. Maybe I should drink my coffee and be less grumpy.

Excellent. A friend of mine in Austin had his second shot of Pfizer about a month ago, and he, likewise, had no significant reaction to his second shot. He said his arm hurt and that was about it.

He did say his head hurt the next day, but that was more likely due to going home and having a Zoom call with friends and drinking too much scotch.

Wasn’t Panarin just coming to the assistance of Buchenevich? Was he supposed to wait for a weight-appropriate teammate to show up?

Rangers aren't really known for having some toughness. I mean Brendan Smith will fight anyone but I've never seen him actually win a fight. At least not while he was playing for the Red Wings. Kreider? Maybe.
