I sincerely doubt anything will happen.

Wilson will be suspended.

You'll need to circle the 2021-22 game on your calendar when Wilson is back in the lineup.

5k. That's it. Pathetic.

. . . and there it is. There should be calls for Parros' head. Fire that imbecile and his idiotic concept of safety.
- Monkeypunk

Yeah this is insane.

Edler gets 2 for a knee on knee but Wilson can go directly to the head and get off scotch free.

66$ fine for the average Canadian.

What a mess.

Exactly. This crew couldn't watch any hockey pre-2000... Especially old games from the 80s & 70s...

Maybe you could just figure out that hockey has changed over the years and we simply expect the current reality to be applied?

Scott Stevens became HOF worthy by going after other players heads. He wouldn't be able to do the same today.

Simply because hockey and it's rules have changed.

Also something likely coming for the Panarin incident...Panarin is out for the season for what its worth.

Could be very bad for him.

$5,000 fine for roughing Buchenevich
- Canada Cup

That's the max allowable under the CBA (which is absurdly low considering salaries).

This is a serious moment of "I can't even". Bouncing a guy's head off the ice. Punching him in the head while he's pinned to the ice with your stick, then getting up and going into a blood frenzy attacking other guys? Come the (frank) on. It's ludicrous and embarrassing, and the guy in charge of setting the rules was one of these clowns so he thinks it's basically acceptable.

I think the idea was to get someone who would understand the rougher side and recognize not to lay the hammer for hard hockey plays, but this DOPS team has failed on almost every level.

I think there was a mutual agreement that players dont want to deal with severe head injuries after playing and the league doesn't want to have to empty their wallets over lawsuits.

I'm still laughing at the pearl clutching and over-wrought reactions here. You are allowed to be confused by me wanting Wilson to be suspended but also thinking that some of the responses from peeps here are pearl clutching.
- mjones242

Ok, I can see some discipline, 2 games and 5000$ fine.

He didn't cross check the guys neck. Panarin engaged the guy on his own. Wilson didn't bounce the guy's head off the ice.

These guys like Panarin have no business jumping Wilson, and if they do, they deserve the beating. Have to keep them honest.

Mrs. Wedgie got her second shot last night.

She has a huuuuuuuuuuuuge franking pitch on Thursday - she's terrified she's going to crash today or tomorrow.

I havnt had my first yet, and I'm 50. Can't get an appointment in my area as of yet because there supposedly isn't any vaccines. Vax that were suppose to be delivered were redirected to the hot spots in Toronto. Yet I work in the grocery business, interact with 100 to 200 people a day which half are Torontonians who drive out of town to avoid lines. I have chronic high blood pressure, wife has asthma and a chronic lung disorder. Glad to hear people are there 2nd thou...

He's actually HOF worthy because he is arguably the best defensive defenseman of all time...plus he got over 900 points.

You HAVE to think something is still coming for the Panarin incident.

Looking back the Buch move was bad...but he is okay and the league likes to take that into account.

As for Panarin? He is out for the rest of the year, probably with a concussion and if the league doesn't do anything about it it could really bite them in the future.

Sure, but it was accepted/tolerated at the time.

He just couldn't do the same today.

Just like players stopped whacking each others head with their stick somewhere in the 80's.

It's called evolving.

Sticks to the head were punished with a beating on the ice. Plus suspensions.

Yes, Stevens couldn't do that today. But I'd suggest he'd put a shoulder into the chest or shoulder and would have accomplished the same effect. Brain bashing into the skull. The guys with their head up avoid having that happen unless the other guy is malicious.
