The future may hold more twists and turns in terms of goalie personnel. Varlamov has two years left at $5 million per; Sorokin is a restricted free agent who will likely get a sizable bump from the $2 million he’s making this season. With the Isles’ other cap issues, that sort of investment in goal may not be sustainable even beyond this season. The Islanders could very well see what sort of return Varlamov could bring and go cheaper with his replacement.

I guess 7 owes me an appology on the Varly might get traded this summer stuff...huh?

I still think it's more likely one of the 2 is moved at the deadline next year or the summer, but given the money, value, etc. It is a very real possibility that one of them is moved.
Imagine what his worth is if he wins the Vezina? next 2 drafts would be a real nice time to have extra first round picks.. just saying.

That's just Staples' opinion. Then again, who knows? He might even be right.

I'm still not completely sold on Sorokin yet. I think the chances are he will get there and be our franchisee goalie, but would like to give him more time to develop.

If he gets traded this summer I’ll apologize. I admit if I’m wrong unlike Others. But don’t worry he won’t be traded this summer.
