I disagree, as most clubs play this sort of possession style in OT. It works, and clearly the Habs have figured it out, thankfully. Personally I think this style goes against what the NHL was looking for when they created this 3x3 OT format. Clubs adjusted, now the NHL should adjust as well. Make it a penalty (minor) to willfully leave the offensive zone with the puck. Make them play, not skate around just holding onto the puck. - Frozendisc

Do you want them to remove the goalie and turn the nets backwards so that you have to deflect the puck off the boards and in, too? |

That's diffrent.
It's what the NHL wants.
Ducharme decided to give the team a boring structure in OT that has showed results as of late.

like do i really need to see Jesperi Kotkaniemi miss the net by 30 feet and have the puck rim around the boards for a 3-on-1 the other way?

they're open for takeout only. in-person dining has been closed since the beginning of October. restos/bars in Quebec have been battered worse than anywhere in North America.

take it a step further. goalie has to throw his stick away for the last 90 seconds of OT.

Apparently they are looking at it. Not sure penalty is a good idea though maybe just a change of possession like bball... |
