I am really liking what I see from Allison, he reminds more and more of Tim Kerr, great shot, gets to the dirty areas, skates well. I am really looking forward to seeing a full year from Allison next year after he has the summer to get stronger. He is a keeper IMO. I also liked the Flyers play in the 3rd period, for the most part they shutdown Washington except for that near goal with about 8 minutes left. That is what makes this team so maddening, they show you they can shut down teams when they want to, but just don't do it consistently.
There were some bad breakdowns however, Provey in the first just giving up the puck for an easy Washington goal, and then Braun doing the same thing in the 2nd; he had time but just blindly shoots it up the boards and turns the puck over. I have to think these plays are caused by lack of chemistry and communication, which at this stage of the season is astonishing. The Flyers also dodged a bullet near the end when the puck bounced over a wide open John Carlson's stick, there is no way he should be that open on that play.
Bottom line is Fletcher cannot go into next season with this same roster, hoping that this year was just a blip due to younger players learning the game, because if he does and the same thing occurs, Fletcher and AV will be fired. I just hope changes are made, and those changes are mostly with the veterans on this team. I really would like to see Allison, Frost, York, Zamula and others get a chance to play major minutes and see if/how they develop. |

I think what stands out to me is the players that are getting their taste in the NHL (Allison, York, Tanner) are better skaters than I expected and a little better skaters than some of the current players.
Allison will be 24 next season, he will have a full off-season so yeah, he should be a little stronger but I think what you see is what you get with him for the most part, I will take it. The guy has much better hockey sense than I expected and really hustles to the right areas. He tries to block every shot with little regard for himself, I like it but I can also see why he might get injured a good bit.
It appears Fletcher really will have to go into next season hoping the kids are all right, the show the promise and how they hell can you give up on them after waiting all this time.
Get that top 2 D and make a couple good hockey trades to upgrade speeed and scoring, Add sweeteners to get the best NHL player in the deal. I wouldn't but you could trade a TK, IF YOU UPGRADE AS EXAMPLE |

Not too many on this roster who are untradeable with the shortcomings in the last few seasons, Trades take two and we're going to be motivated to shake things up so chances are it might (at least look) like an overpayment to get a top RHD. This team can not go on as it sits, The trickle down effect of our lackluster D situation could do long term damage to Harts career. He deserves a good d in front, even if we give up some goal scoring/scorers to get there. Allison looks great, reminds me of Knuble a bit in the positioning, Better skater than expected even coming off the injuries and short seasons. Probably wishful thinking but York could end up the #1 LHD down the road here. If Myers and Hayes can rebound and we address the RHD this team can at least contend again but nothing means anything without that D man. Seth Jones Please........ |

Has Voracek played in the last 10 games? Dude is totally invisible which is to be expected. Please get him outta here! I really think he is a big part of this losing culture
that has permeated this team in the last decade. Get his arse outta here no matter what it takes!!!!! The defense can be fixed relatively easy IMO especially if York is the real deal, but this group of forwards needs lots of work. I still can't believe Chucky let Pitlick walk when this is exactly what this forward group needs(not to mention that he was good on the PK). If you fix the defense Hart will probably be fine cause he is a position goalie. I really wish that they wouldn't have signed Hayes. He is exactly what they don't need. He looks painfully slow in a league that keeps getting faster. I don't see that signing ending well. Thanks!! |

The Hayes signing was an absolute desperation signing. One that he couldn’t turn down if he wanted to be here or not. |

I don’t think they need a Seth Jones. They need another top 4 capable RH dman like a montour to settle things down. I would be fine if they signed him |

Nothing I have seen recently changes my mind. Major changes needed. No untouchables. I'm ok trading anyone. Provy terribly overrated. Coots could fetch a nice package. Lose either JVR or 93...make it happen. |

Provorov has shown to be a force if he had a stable veteran partner. Maybe he’s not the Norris candidate we all thought he could be. But he is a legit top pairing high minutes eating dman who is on a good contract for this team. Get him a legitimate partner.
I agree a Coots trade needs to be explored to set this team on a different course. They’re stuck with Hayes. Moving g/Jake/jvr isn’t going to move a needle. Trading coots isn’t in anyway diminishing the player, rather the opposite due to what he and only he can fetch in a return which would be young inexpensive talent |

Regarding Provorov, I think he is a good player, not a great player. Of course he is better when he is paired with a better partner, what defenseman wouldn’t be?
His best ability is availability. He plays every game. You can count on him playing hurt. At 24 he still can improve. I wouldn’t say he’s a disappointment, but I think when he was drafted we’d hope he would be a Norris candidate and that’s not going to happen.
He’s the best the Flyers have by a wide margin, hopefully when another solid defenseman is added this summer it will settle him down and the Flyers will have a semblance of a top pairing. |

1 goal 8 assists last ten games. - MBFlyerfan The quietest 1 goal and 8 assists in the entire history of the NHL. So funny how people throw his stats out there yet the eye test is akin to watching an elephant take a giant shyte!! |

I thought you said Voracek is unnoticeable? Now, this could be just me, but if I saw a pachyderm defecate hugely anywhere, let alone on ice, I believe I would notice. |

I like what I’ve seen from Allison, too. Parts of his game last night reminded me of Brian Propp.
