How do you say I want out without actually saying the words "I want out"

For cap reasons we might not get him, but a 24 year old center with that kind of production? Sign me up. The surgery is a bit concerning, but don't forget that this is nothing like the Lindros thing. Lindros was older and was one concussion from being a vegetable. If anything, Lindros was more equivalent to Lafontaine.

Him wanting out of Buffalo doesn't anger me. They've been inept for so long, I don't blame him for not wanting to rot his career there.

I cant imagine the Avs just let him walk.

More realistic than Barkov, which at 0% doesnt hold much of a chance for either!!

This is just what current sports are about. I cant blame guys for not wanting to rot on terrible teams. Players are far more vocal about it now then they ever were.

What worries me is the injury and his demeanor when talking about it.

the way Lafreniere was coming on, if this season was continuing on to 82 games I think he would have gotten 20

Great extension and for a good length. I think at the 3 year mark Lindgrens body will be on the decline.

the third year is 4 million in cash, so they'll need qualify him at above 4 to retain his RFA rights at that point, and he'd be one year away from UFA

I have no problem with him decreasing his trade value if he may in fact come here.

I know some don't want him due to the injury. So what? He goes to LTIR at worst. I was watching a video about the procedure he MAY need to have and two comparable cases were Derek Dorsett and Kris Letang. Dorsett's outcome is obviously not what you would hope for but Letang is certainly not being held back by a neck injury.

I'm not rooting for him to come here but I am not going to be upset if he does.

Your first point is definitely valid. What I think is different though, is that he's young enough where I feel his body will recover fully. If he was in his 30s, would be a much bigger concern to me.

I'm not sure what Eichel can do other than openly express his feelings. Especially in hockey, if you keep it to the locker room per se, nothing will ever really get done. We all cheered for MSL during his run here, and that was another guy who opened up about him wanting to leave Tampa.

I think 4m per is a reasonable number for him going into the prime of his career. We will see how he holds up when the contract is over. Hopefully with a bit more depth on D he wont always have to be out there with Fox.

Glad Drury's first action was a signing we all like, and not a trade or a firing.

My guess for Lindgren resigning was around 2.65m, I was close there.

My guess for Shesty is between 5.5m-6m per year for 4-5 years, lets see how close I get.
