so because a player wants to be traded, that's it, just trade him for the best offer, which will be crap because your trading from a position of weakness and other teams know it?

Jack signed a contract. He is signed for 4 more years, he is one of the best Centers in the league and about to hit his prime years what, we are going to trade him for a box of tape and some practice pucks and that's if we are lucky..

No, you cant do it.

Yea that's literally how it always works.

How many top tier players need to leave / ask for trades until mgmt takes a look in the mirror?

We have new management every 2 years.

Its the owners that are the problem.

You mean like with Puljujarvi, Lias Anderson and I could name 100 more players that demanded a trade and never got it. Those are just two out of the top of my head.

Not the point is it.

He demanded a trade, he didn't get it. So you saying it always happens is flat out wrong.

Try not to move the goal posts around.

Or wait, it ALWAYS happens unless it doesn't

The question is: do you really want to play hardball with a guy who doesn't want to be here? Is it even worth it?

I'm getting the sense the Sabres have eclipsed the event horizon. They're fully engulfed now. I think a total organizational cleansing is going to happen, and realistically, needs to happen.

They blew it

Let's look at these three veterans from another possible perspective. They are all horrible leaders and maybe the losing culture is driven by them? They gave the keys to the car to Eichel and showed everyone else the door. It is his team, and he drives the culture, which is obviously horrible. Pathetic lack of effort under Krueger, who they all profess to love. (Why not when there is zero accountability). Give them credit, they didn't run for the bus year end, like previous teams. Gee, Eichel wasn't around for that. Coincidence? A supreme talent with a ten-cent head. A bigger bunch of pathetic, gutless losers this league has never seen. How sad when Tage Thompson has to step up v Kevin Miller (Animal) and the only other guy to actually answer the bell all year was your rookie, Dylan Cousins. I think he led the team in fights. Team should be real proud of themselves.

he has never demanded a trade.
Like Jason Spezza. Suddenly the media lights the torches whups the fan base up into a frenzy that the guy is garbage and off he goes.

My issue with Jack is that...he's never gonna be as good as the guy drafted ahead of him. He's literally Bobby Ryan. A decent hockey player with good numbers - put him in the right environment maybe you get great numbers. Not a generational talent. Just a good damn player.

I don't know what the Sabres should do. But, they're a proud fan base.

Not to mention players demand trades all the time and don't get traded.

Sabres hold all the cards. They don't need to trade him if they don't want to.

My opinion is he should be traded. He is not the leader this team has hoped for and I feel he is always going to be disruptive.

Jack will not sit out a year out of spite...... he loves the game of hockey and when he’s ready to return he will return whether that’s with the sabres or another team is up to management

Everyone knows a cleansing needs to happen. There's a whole offseason that will tell the picture. It's been a horrible season in many respects for the Sabres and Jack. Time will tell

In this case, Eichel lit the torches like ROR before him with his "losing the love of the game" speech.
