I have to apologize for some of the buzzards around here. It's interesting to get some neutral fan's opinions and ideas.

Every Sabres fan had a bad day today.

He gone and he's devaluing himself on the way out.

Trade him to Anaheim. That'll teach him.

You have some solid young players starting to make their mark. Yes, you're going to get set back now for 2-3 years, but taking on some problematic contracts, depending on the length could put you in an even worse situation three years from now when you want to build around those players.

Not saying this is a bad idea, but you need to be careful with the length of those garbage contracts.

EDIT: Waiting another two or three years might be easier for ridding yourself of Skinner. With less term left on his contract you may have more options.

Again, this all comes down to what the team plans is. If they think they can move Eichel and get pieces that make you competitive now, they may go that route.

- Rinosaur

The Sabres Cant middle this.

If 9 and 23 are gone they need to go full rebuild. Take on two bad contracts and acquire and extra first and second possibly

Trade 55 for a 2nd

Go into this draft and the next two with two firsts and two seconds and don’t Tim Murray it this time.

Let them develop and by the time Dahlin is 24-25 and Cozens is 23 we maybe will be playing meaningful games

M. Tkachuk for Reinhart, 2nd?

Miller, 3rd to Seattle?

LA trade
-not bad, would hope that the 2nd would be another 1st. And we could take some salary back from them

CGY trade
-tough to say what the exact value of Sam vs Tkachuk would be. Tkachuk has physical play & better scoring in past years, but Sam’s play this year has clearly topped him.

Seattle trade
-sure, why not? Probably works for both sides

Risto trade
-maybe add to him & hope Winnipeg is desperate enough to give up a good young prospect like Perfetti. Could be a long shot, but if they have another disappointing playoffs then Cheveldayoff should be feeling the heat to win next year

*I’d try to get Brady Tkachuk out of Ottawa too,
and build around the Tkachuk bros. & all the young talent we have & would get in the Eichel trade & with upcoming picks
Would probably take an overpay though
I’m thinking Quinn + maybe Olofsson?

With Eichel neck idk how other teams are gonna feel about him, I would hope for another first instead of second or maybe Iafallo even though they just resigned him.

I wonder if Ottawa has any interest moving Brady? I don't see why they would but worth a shot, nothing's come out like it has for Matthew with Calgary being tired of his antics.

Just get Risto out of here. No idea how the rest of the league looks at him so take best offer and run with it.

I’m not too worried about his neck affecting his value- he’s still an amazing young talent that half the league will be bidding on

I’m sure Ottawa is not thinking of moving Brady,
and that’s why we’d have to overpay

I get why some wanna move Risto so bad, & it makes complete sense if Jack is traded. Just wanna see us take advantage of Winnipeg here. They’ve disappointed in the playoffs ever since they made it to the Western Conference championship bc they haven’t addressed their defense- so let’s use their desperation to get a good deal for us. *that’s my hope anyways

I feel like we should get good value for Risto, but I'm also one of those people not impressed with his play soooo 😅

My Prediction We are better next year. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ away
- Buff36

The only reason they can be worse is there are more teams. This isn’t a bold prediction. I don’t want them to be “better” I want a real team.

I doubt LA would include Byfield.

Maybe something like

Turcotte, Kaliyev, Kemp, 1st, and 2nd?

I like the Flames trade, but I doubt they'd move Tkachuk

There is zero chance you get Tkachuck out of Calgary unless he’s part of a package for Jack. Sure, Reinhart had a better season but Tkachuck is the guy in Calgary. If you want Monohhan or Gudreau then maybe.

Why can't they be better, Jesus Christ it sucks if Jack and Rhino leave, but it hasn't happened yet and if it does the pieces brought back could make us a better Team. Dume and gloom for stuff that hasn't happened yet.

Fair to say but realistically this was simplyba bad year. Not saying on paper the Sabres were great but to a man they clearly underachieved. Sometimes it just happens with a bad coach or a bad start or a couple key injuries. The best course of action is to settle the disgruntled players down and add a couple pieces. Adding Hall and Staal were the right moves that just didnt work out. Do something similar and see what happens, but FFS stop the management carousel and hire the right coach.

Seems reasonable, without Byfield they definitely have to add another piece.

Only thinking that for Tkachuk because it's been rumored the team is done with his crap like Winnipeg was with Kane.

You might get Byfield in a trade for Jack but not with 3 other pieces. That's about the only scenario I am interested in right now from them. Maybe Zegras also. No interest in sending him to the Rangers.

The Flames laugh at any trade that doesn't include Jack or Dahlin.

We should.

Since it indicates the current GM probably sucks

Adams wanted to be the good guy and help Hall get to a place he wanted to be over getting the absolute best possible return.

You know watching those exit interviews, I really don't think I saw anything I didn't expect, well other than Jack. If you expected peaches and cream then that's on you. With Jack it was a little surprising with the injury take. But it probably is different with athletes, but I can say first hand that Doctors won't do Surgery unless a certain amount of PT is performed and it was 8 sessions for my Surgeries on my shoulder, and when I had my fusion surgery on my neck it was about the same. But really hard to tell with this organization, they don't deserve the benefit of doubt.
