Source? The kid played through numerous injuries even though it was obvious that this was a lost season. How often does a top 10 player in the league that is 24 years old and a 1c possibly become available?
- Slump Buster

What can you point to in Buffalo's recent history that shows he is a leader? Sorry, I didn't come here to start an argument and I'm not saying any of this out of spite or anger.
Look at it from the other side. Despite his obvious and enormous skill, look at the whole package. Problematic salary. Serious injury. Widespread talk that he bypassed Bylsma to tell the GM he wouldn't stay if they kept him. And throughout, the team has been in the bottom. Not saying all this is true or all his fault. But, why would a team trade a 1st overall, another star, another good roster player and 2 first round picks for all that headache?

And, while you ask how often a top 10, 24 year old player becomes available, also ask WHY he is available.

They never should have put Eichel on the ice this year. He was so (frank)ed up
- jcragcrumple

they (adams and terry) literally thought they were competing for the cup this year

no chance jack was going to start the year on ir

i'm sure that's also a part of the reason for his unhappiness with management...remember r lph and the ankle injury?

And how has he had an abdominal injury for a year? I don't blame him for not trusting the Sabres doctors.

Is Dr. Nick working there?

It's chronic organizational incompetence. Once he's clear of the stink of the Sabres, he'll be great

How can you possibly take someone seriously when they use the argument of saying he's not as good as McDavid? That's like saying you're a pathetic weakling because you can only bench press 325lbs, but the strongest man in the world can do over 500.

That is very possible. He's a great talent.
But, I love what the Rangers have done in the last 3 years and would be very unhappy if they traded 5 assets for anyone not named McDavid.
Even then, how do you balance it? We have Breadman at $11.6M (worth it), Trouba at $8M (good, but OVERpay), Zibanejad coming up for renewal next year and 10 regulars coming off ELC's in the next 2 years, including a Norris candidate and franchise goalie.
We are about to become VERY deep, if we can find a good 2-way 3C. Bringing in Jack would disrupt the whole thing.

I personally dont want a trade with the Rangers. I have no interest in Zib or Lafreniere. Zib has one year left on his deal and Lafreniere is a winger which doesn't help me

Not to mention Zibanejad's NTC

On the last page there was a comment about someone questioning Eichel's talent because he's not as good as the guy drafted ahead of him (McDavid).
