What can you point to in Buffalo's recent history that shows he is a leader? Sorry, I didn't come here to start an argument and I'm not saying any of this out of spite or anger.
Look at it from the other side. Despite his obvious and enormous skill, look at the whole package. Problematic salary. Serious injury. Widespread talk that he bypassed Bylsma to tell the GM he wouldn't stay if they kept him. And throughout, the team has been in the bottom. Not saying all this is true or all his fault. But, why would a team trade a 1st overall, another star, another good roster player and 2 first round picks for all that headache?
And, while you ask how often a top 10, 24 year old player becomes available, also ask WHY he is available. - Tonybere
This is fair, it's good to see what other fan bases think of Eichel. He's a top 5 Center with baggage. I'm sure value is somewhere in between what Sabres fans think and what you suggested. |

Wait what did Hall say about Eichel’s injury - BeadyEyedDouche

Sure, Lunaion you know more about this stuff. If a player is out with a injury are they allowed to talk with the media. - Buff36
This isn't really CBA stuff, it's HIPAA. They are very limited in what they can say, without permission.
KA really should have issued a statement last night. Not exactly getting in front of things, but at least addressing it on their terms. Using HIPAA to avoid questions tomorrow isn't going to help much. |

I think an underrated part of the stupidity is that Eichel was an hour late for his call because he was talking to Adams. Clearly he had some things to say - jcragcrumple
To me, that would be a positive sign for him staying. If it was short, and nothing would have changed his mind, it would have looked more like this:

That is a fair deal for Eichel. But there is cap to worry about for LA. Would Buffalo be interested in taking the last 2 seasons of Quick to get a better return? I feel if this is the type of trade Buffalo goes for, it signals a rebuild, not a reload, so the two years of Quick should not cause any issues, especially if they get more assets in return.
While I don't think Tkachuk for Reinhart and a 2nd is terrible for either team talent and value wise. I don't think a team going into any type of rebuild should be looking at Tkachuk. His contract is specifically designed to get him as much money and to UFA as fast as possible. His qualifying offer is 9 million after next season. You will either have to give him a huge contract he can't turn down, and hope he doesn't turn into another Skinner. If you don't give him the contract he wants, he accepts the 9 million qualifying offer and tests the market after next year. I don't think he signs to go through a rebuild. I guess you can trade his RFA rights, but I think there are better options for Reinhart, especially if you are adding picks with him. - r8edr
Possibly on Quick if it means we get Byfield, they need another goalie to pair with Ullmark anyways and it gives time for UPL and Portillo to season.
I think Tkachuk is a long shot but he's the kinda player we need with grit and skill.
Depends on how much salary we'll have after moving Eichel, Reinhart, Risto and Miller, I admittedly haven't paid enough attention to what our cap situation could look like. Dahlin has to get paid yet. |

I can't imagine him giving any more detail than Eichel did. Jack really didn't give us much when you look back.
It's going to be a train wreck tomorrow. Dancing around every question.

I don't either, probably just following are medical teams advice. I can't wait for the 15 questions that are the same just worded differently. |

Any chance eichel just went "on his own"
Upset with the way jack eichel was being treated?
The "dis connect " could be : break the connection of or between.
Meaning he flat out hasnt spoken with the Sabres, until his meeting that ran late. Almost like they had plenty to converse about.
Strange that there were never any updates on the injury.
Could have been part if the trickle down effect, even without eichel near the team. |

Taco just looking at it differently. Do I like stuff I am hearing of course not, but it's nothing with all the stuff I have had done the last 3yrs surgery wise that PT was the first phase in his situation and it's not something you do a couple sessions and say this isn't working time for surgery. Want to see what Adams has to say. We all have the right to b!tch, it's not like this organization doesn't deserve it. But really not gonna change my life, might not like what's happening. But they will still be my favorite hockey team, might not spend money to go to any games this year but I will still watch them on TV. - Buff36
It's extremely disheartening that they're in consideration to rebuild by trading a 24 yo franchise center and 25 year old top line winger.
The issue here is that you can't just change coaches, players or GMs. The issues start and end with god damn Terry and Kim (frank)ing Pegula. (frank)ing soul suckers.

I totally agree. You might hate this, but I am more worried about losing Rhino than Jack. If Rhino is here, the pieces you could add if Eichel is traded and a Viking trade might just make us a better overall team. I don't want Eichel traded but. |
