Jesper wallstedt would be a good pick so we could have all the jespers

Agreed. Our jespers/60 will be way higher than any other team and should make us the easy favorite for the Jesper Cup.

Palmieri just can't get anything going. Feel for the guy because he's been a player we've all liked for so long.

Between the cap crunch, and his big dip in offense, I am sure he is not going to be thrilled with his next contract. Hopefully he pops off in the playoffs. One good outing post-season could raise his stock back up to where it was last season.

If Vancouver gets 1 more point the lowest we can pick is 6, since there's only 2 lottery spots now. There's definitely a chance Luke is on the board when we pick unless Vancouver wins the lottery and jumps into the top 2. Hughes is the most likely top 4 D to fall out of the top 5 if we drop all the way back. I think right now i'd say the top 3 is close to being locked in with Power, Beniers, and Edvinsson. Then i think Clarke and Guenther would be next off the board before Hughes.

Odds are we'll be picking 4 or 5 though, so i think its a very high chance we can get Luke(if we're picking ahead of Vancouver)

only 2 lottery spots, because of Seattle? or are these the new draft rules.. I thought they were starting the following year?

My understanding was that they were awarded the 3rd highest slot. Anyone who missed the playoffs still has a shot at #1 overall, with odd tapering accoring to their rank. All this as-per tankathon.com, the completely unverified website. haha. But still fun to simulate and see where we slot.

New lottery rules, 2 lotto winners. There are additional changes as well going into effect next year. Kraken start at #3 and can move up or down like the rest.

There were 3 new lottery rules. The first one is that there are only 2 lottery slots now, down from 3, which is implemented this year. The other two changes are that teams who win the lottery can only move up a maximum of 10 slots, and teams can only win 2 lotteries in a 5 year span. Both of those aren't in affect until next year

Seattle is just slotted into the 3rd best lottery odds and can pick anywhere from 1-5 depending on the lottery outcome

Anybody know if Nico is suiting up for Switzerland tomorrow? As a degenerate gambler, I am liking the -130 on Switzerland vs Latvia. Latvia has lost the past 9 meetings, and if Nico is there, they will only be better.

Might need to acquire Jesper fast to really lock it in.

Sorry need to vent. This league's salary cap and LTIR are a complete joke. Kucherov missing the season but being fine for the first playoff game??? And the NHL has reviewed and it is fine? It's like the stunts the Blackhawks pulled a few years ago with Kane and then whatshisname being allergic to equipment. Why have any cap?

The Canucks lose in regulation again. They have 4 games left to get that 1 point to pass us
