MacPatty is smiling somewhere... - MattStrat
I'm smiling moreso because we got Jeff (frank)ing Carter but I stand by my assertion that Lazar would have been a good 4C option if the Pens weren't making a big splash.
His Penguins destiny will be fulfilled this season when he low bridges Wilson and knocks him out for the playoffs. |

The battle of Florida could be a real hot watch too. Those should be really good games.
Hopefully Caps/B's, Leafs/Habs and Bolts/Cats arent on the same times as Pens/Isles haha - MattStrat
I think the Florida series will be the most exciting of the first round and the Caps/Bruins the most chaotic.
Leafs/Habs is going to be boring as poop, as will ours unless you’re a Pens or Isles fan lol.
EDIT: If VGK plays MIN, that could be right up there with the Florida series. I think MIN could totally pull an upset. |

Anyone who writes that crap isn't watching the games. - Tedge77
Ah yea. The writers that frequent tweet about specific plays and instances through games definitely pulled that 2v1 rush from a spreadsheet. What size clown shoes you wear? You got the big red ones, or the ones with the hole that your toe sticks out? |

I dont see this one as being boring but that could be due to the sheer excitement I'm surrounded by for it haha. The Leafs are a very fun team to watch and I believe Cary Price to be quite capable of standing on his head some or all of the games. If the Habs get Weber, Gallahger, Anderson, Danuelt and Drouin back it could be a much closer series than some expect. That's massive holes in their lineup for quite some time now. |

I just think Leafs/Habs is going to feel like watching regular season games and the Leafs will probably assrape the Habs. Anytime you can watch Matthews play it's going to fun, so yeah, from that aspect they have fun players to watch, but overall I'm expecting a rather low-excitement series.

Anyone want to do some predictions?
Canes/Preds: Canes in five. (Probably four, but I'm being conservative)
Bolts/Panthers: Bolts in seven.
Caps/Bruins: Bruins in five. Caps just look too wounded to fight this one.
Pens/Isles: Pens in six. I'd say at least two OT games in there.
Leafs/Habs: Leafs in four.
Oil/Jets: Oilers in five.
West isn't set yet, so I'll do either or:
Vegas/Blues: Vegas in six
Avs/Wild: Avs in seven
Vegas/Wild: Wild in seven
Avs/Blues: Avs in six |

Only 6 games in for the QMJHL playoffs but both Poulin and Legare are averaging a goal per game. Interested in what kind of impact they might be able to make in the next year or two. |

I highly doubt much if any as far as next season goes. They really need to change this stupid AHL rule so these players can start developing earlier. Playing in the Q is doing nothing to help the development of Poulin or Legare. They likely both need a solid year in the AHL before being able to see any difference IMO.

Yeah, I agree. Next season in the AHL with a possible playoff call up would be ideal. My only worry with both as prospects is that they are both very physically strong and well developed. So how will they both perform when they are playing bigger, stronger opponents? Both definitely have a nice offensive touch though. |

Tough to gage since they haven't played in the AHL yet and are "older" CHL prospects. Once you get to a certain age in the CHL production doesn't really mean anything because you're just on a different level of physical development than the majority of your competition. Not gonna be able to tell on them until we see how they do in the AHL next season. |

I remember EKs season beginning predictions, that the Flyers would win the division and The Pens would miss out or barely squeek in🤣🤣🤣

I expect that like most, they'll probably struggle in the beginning, but if they really have the goods they should finish their first season strong. Obviously it's totally possible they are ready to go, but I just put the chances at lower than better.

Don't sleep on Zohorna either here. It'll be a decently interesting camp. My eyes will be on Zohorna, Poulin and Legare. Defensively Maniscalco? Idk if we have anything else. |

Oh, I'm not. The original post centered just on Poulin and Legare, so I was only opining on them.
EDIT: That said, depending on how Gaudreau holds up, there's going to be little room in the bottom six. |

Completely agree. At their size and age there was nothing Poulin or Legare were going to learn in the Q but bad habits. Should have been able to work on their games in the AHL. |

I played last night for the first time in a year and a half. 1assist +2. But my possession numbers were through the roof. Now I have to play 3 possibly 4 games this weekend. # possession monster. |

Your PDO must be like 1.3
But really, how many hits did you have? Any less than five and you're pretty much Connor Sheary. |
