I played last night for the first time in a year and a half. 1assist +2. But my possession numbers were through the roof. Now I have to play 3 possibly 4 games this weekend. # possession monster.

Hows the soreness today?

Don't sleep on Zohorna either here. It'll be a decently interesting camp. My eyes will be on Zohorna, Poulin and Legare. Defensively Maniscalco? Idk if we have anything else.
- 668710

I think Maniscalco is closest just because he spent some time on the taxi squad and RD is less crowded. Cam Lee and Will Reilly are worth keeping an eye on but aren't likely pushing for spots yet.

O'Connor had 16 points in 16 games once they finally sent him down, so I think we'll see him again sometime next year. Maybe Bellerieve who saw a big jump in production.

Oh, I'm not. The original post centered just on Poulin and Legare, so I was only opining on them.

EDIT: That said, depending on how Gaudreau holds up, there's going to be little room in the bottom six.

- Rinosaur

Gaudreau needs signed first, which I hope they do. But I'll be really interested to see how they structure the bottom six and extras and how much opportunity there is for a prospect.

Your PDO must be like 1.3

But really, how many hits did you have? Any less than five and you're pretty much Connor Sheary.

I don’t even wear shoulder pads. It was kind of strange though. Halfway through the game I kind of remembered that I’m 6’4 and I can kind of just get in the way of guys. I have to remember the beer league hacks I used to use. Work today is killing me.

If he's not a fluke and remains impactful through the playoff run I doubt he's that hard to sign, nor do I think he's going to cost the Pens much at all. I'd be shocked if he's paid more than $850K.

Agreed on the structure. There may not be room, but it also depends on what happens with expansion draft and any other moves they make. Pens could lose Tanev or ZAR, trade Zucker, etc...

David Quinn of the Rangers fired. New Pens assistance coach next year!
- stevens87

I feel kind of bad for the Rangers staff. They ate 13M in buyouts this year to put themselves in great position for next year and didn't get to follow up on it.

Rangers can be really scary next year. Division is not getting any easier.

It's the worst when you haven't played in a while. Bet it felt good getting back out there though.

They can and likely will be. Lafreniere finally started finding his game, so if he really takes off the sky is the limit. I think the jury is still out on Kakko and watching him a few times this year, there are times I like his all around game and times he's a ghost. He may just wind up being a good middle six forward which is not a bad thing at all.

He'll be cheap so for sure they should try and keep Gaudreau. Who knows what he wants. But if I was a borderline guy, I'd want to stay somewhere the coach has confidence in me. Just not counting on it until it's done.

Geno isn't participating in the scrimmage portion of today's practice.

He was on the ice with skills coach Ty Hennes for a while before anyone else. Then he participated in full during the initial practice, which included power play work and some other drills. We'll ask about it

Not sure what to make of this just yet. Not a good sign though.

Clearly what happened in Buffalo did something. We're not going to get a 100% healthy Geno for the playoffs most likely. Let's just hope it doesn't badly hamper his game.

Rangers did the rebuild the way I wish all teams would rebuild

Announced it, Then firesale, tank for draft picks, then used their $$ to sign some FA's, weren't afraid to cut lose team legends (Lundqvist) and in 3 seasons are past the hard part and on their way up

And their stupid owner cleans house when it couldn't have been done any better IMO

Lower part of the leg collided with a buffalo player, I don't remember who. Purely accidental and he barely played after that, but stayed on the bench looking not happy. The reports were that he was concerned he tweaked the knee injury, but then they later confirmed it had not and they were just be cautious.

Obviously this is a lower body of some sort, just no clue what it is as of yet.

1st game is still at least 4 days away. He was a full participant in everything else so I'd say they want to see how his body responds to all of that today. Obviously ideally we just want him doing it all today but the fact he did everything else is encouraging to me.

Now in saying all of that if he isn't at the next practice its truly worrisome.
