My wife & I were having a drink in the garden and she asked "Isn't there a game on?" and I said "yes" and then we stayed in the garden.
- Marwood

after the first period my wife asked me "Can I put on something I wanna watch??"

I said "sure"

She chose American Psycho then Parks and Rec...

His salary is about a million more than Sutter. I'd like to see it happen.
- VanHockeyGuy

i wouldn't mind him as a player but i see the pieces going back to be too much.

what do you think it would cost? i'm guessing a 1st, roster player and prospect will be the ask by buffalo with the actual deal coming less than that. something like podk, hog and a 1st.

in 3 to 5 years, the assets the team would have to give up to get reinhart would probably contribute more to the team than him.

oh and i got vaxxed about an hour ago. got pfizer. no effects so far.

I would be taking a look at UFA defenseman Jake McCabe, an instant upgrade on the physical side.

Might be good for someone to pair with Schmidt if Van does do what I don't want and keep him.

Olesiak as well.

Possibly looking at term for the pair though.

correct me if i'm wrong but i remember a discussion of possible D trade targets that someone posted earlier this season (or last?). it was a good discussion and mccabe was one of the favourites and olesiak (that mini just brought up above.)

So cap friendly doesn't say that they have 22M you went and created that. I guess I should have figured out you went and created your own team.

Again, I'm not saying they need to be the Leafs and had out 5 year deals to 30 year olds at 5M.

Hamonic and Vatanen signed 1 year deals at less than 2M.

34 yr old Russell signed 1 year 1.25

Barrie 1 year 3.75

Dillon (29) 4 years 3.9

Braun (33) 2 years 1.8M

Scandella (30) 4 years 3.275

So you don't have to guess anymore.

I would look to sign Savard to a 3 year deal 3.5-4M

I would look to sign Martinez to a 2 year deal at 2-2.75

Don't bother to say they won't get it or too much. That's my opinion, if they get more, they get more. I wouldn't sign them for more.

Not sure why you're testy right now. If you click on the Armchair GM page and select the Canucks, that is the backbone they give you. I didn't create any team or make any moves. That's literally what CapFriendly says they have available for the Canucks for the 2021-22 season as it currently stands.

Instead of insinuating you could have just clicked and seen for yourself. Honestly don't know what the beef is.

Most of those guys you listed don't have the profile of the others, aside from Barrie, who had a poop year and bet on himself with the Oilers. I guess we'll see what they get when free agency opens up

Ya, I think it might have been Nucker who brought up McCabe. Sometimes bringing up solid players, in any discussions with Canucks fans can be a bit of an issue.

Do you get Reinhart to be a top 6 C playing as your 3c, or do you finally give Bo a proper Winger?

Miller - EP - Boeser
Podk - Bo - Reinhart
Pearson - X - Hoglander

How about a cheap 1 year deal for Nick Bonino as 3LC? 25 points in 53 games.

Good on face offs 677fo 357w 320l 52.7%

Penalty Kill 4.17PP/GA/60 100:37SH/TOI 1:54 SH TOI/GP

Pretty much Sutter without being an offensive black hole.

The Canucks have the pieces to take a run at Reinhart and he'd be an upgrade on Sutter.

BB has been one of the bright spots this year. We also don't score goals soooo losing BB would HURT to much. Who moves into the top 6? Yikes!

i meant that's what the starting point is with them. that's what they'll ask for and it will get negotiated down.

my point was that even if you negotiate down, it'll still end up costing too much.

Under the interactive tab? Where it says Armchair GM (custom roster simulation)

Those are made up rosters by other people.

CapFriendly > Interactive > Armchair GM > Create a Team > Canucks Logo > Season 2021-22, enter a name, recaptcha > tada

It'll show the team that's signed for that season, who's on LTIR (Beagle and Ferland), taxi squad (LE), etc. You can then move players around, sign some, trade them, and select them for buyout, and it'll update the cap numbers as you go.

However, when you first click in, that's the roster as it stands now, showing roster size, bonuses, cap space et al.

It's a very useful tool to see how the cap would work out for players/buyouts/signings/etc

I don't think the Canucks will get to draft that high.

I know you are high on McTavish. From the highlights I've seen and the 3 games I got to see him at u18s. It reminds me of watching Scott Laughton when he was a junior. With maybe a slight bit more upside.
