Look, I’ve got no animosity for those guys. Like I said, I loved my time there. In our first game against them, when I scored, I remember their bench was just lighting me up with the chirps. Just great stuff. And then, when the second one went in, only a few guys said something. Then I get the third one, and I’m skating by their bench and it’s just silent … and then right as I get to the end, I hear one guy.
“Are you f****** kidding me, Toffs?”
The boys on our bench were just cracking up.

Out of all the people I think you'd like Deadwood the best (maybe it's the cowboy thing? )

This is pretty profane/racist slurs/homophobic slurs, but Ian McShane is an absolute gem in the series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gawOeI0e3KA&t=2s (start at 1:17 to skip to the meat of it)

lol thx. We tried Deadwood through the Plandemic but couldn't get into it. Longmire however was way better that we thought and we really enjoyed that series. Had no Idea Wyoming was that picturesque and beautiful.

wait, are you saying that making the playoffs this year (only to lose in the first round if they do) is worse than missing the playoffs?

nice!

almost as good as the logic that this season doesn't count (for the canucks) because of covid, schedule, etc. but this season for mcjesus is the most impressive since lemiuex and gretzky. can't make this sh!t up.

Benning never even offered him a contract

How can anyone make excuses for such a pathetic excuse of a general manager.

and it was because time ran out.

Hindsight is my favorite excuse in here. Right next to no cap issues.

Water under the bridge now. Funny how a guy who's a "slow skater" piles up the points like that . He was a perfect fit for this team. An opportunity missed, move on. The concerning part is i'm not convinced the organization learned anything.

there are no cap issues. they are only close to the cap because of the covid flat tax. noone saw a pandemic coming so you can't blame jb for being cap strapped because it's covid's fault.

and FA made him sign the bad contracts anyway. plus, all the bad contracts that MG signed hurt the cap.

your cap issue is hindsight.

His followers/supporters just echo his rambling excuses. I'm sure at this point he doesn't have many left in his cupboard to use.

i had no problem letting him go. nor did i letting marky and tanev go.

the problem i have is that jb has shown absolutely no consistent plan.

and i wait for minivan to bring up: it was draft and develop all along. bull fcuking sh!t it was. it was sign/trade for vets to compete while allowing the draft picks to develop. the only problem is that the vets brought in suck and they sucked up most of the cap. the silver lining is that they sucked so bad that it gave jb high picks so that he could have the "appearance" of a rebuild. and here we are almost a decade later.

Lol the covid excuse never gets old. It only applies to Benning, and not a single other GM or team

Wrong, it's the "schedule" which sabotaged the season. The team was doomed from game one.

This is the "excuse"

the best is that this season doesn't matter because of the covid excuse.

but last year's playoffs prove something. never mind that they came after 2 months of no play and no practice. if some of the losing teams brought up reasons for bad play, i'm sure they would be dismissed as "excuses" here.

but for the canucks, they "almost made the conference final," in some tournament that began in july which proves how close they are.

and now we're expected to just dismiss this season because of all the reasons that weren't there 10 months ago? lol. is what it is. can't make this sh!t up.

I still don’t care. Never wanted to trade for him, not sorry he didn’t sign. My problem is that The Canucks *wanted* to sign him but couldn’t, because they didn’t have space.

“It was our intention to try and get him signed and if we could have had a little more time, we could have tried to work through that,” said Benning to Kuzma. “It got to a point where I know Tyler wanted to come back and we were trying to figure it out. We kind of ran out of time with him getting offers and one he needed to take. We would have had to move money out.”
