posting again cuz this is gold
NHLer on the Leafs: “Guess what? I don’t think any of the teams in the Canadian division are good...How the (frank) can they win the Stanley Cup when they play no defense?...I just don’t think their forwards care enough about defense to win...I don’t think they’re actually good.”

I'm surprised it's mentioned by other players. Like do they think Matthews only scored 40 against the North in previous years too?
North wasn't the hardest division but wasn't the easiest. They didn't have Jersey/Philly and Buffalo to play 10 times.

We have to wait 6 days for the playoffs to start after the leafs final game?
Plus adding a back 2 back? What kind of idiot came up with this schedule. Start on like Tuesday and space the games out. No ore cares that van/cgy are still finishing up. |

Agreed.
The ridiculous numbers posted by some players in the north isn't because the other teams can't defend.
It's because there are ridiculously talented players in the North.
It's not like everyone started scoring above their average. |

Per Adam Stanley on why we can’t have golf.
Ford blames mobility for why golf courses are closed. He said himself, "there's nothing wrong with golfing" and although he is a terrible golfer he would "love to get out golfing."
The problem is, he said, buddies "go out golfing and have a few pops"
You can’t fix stupid. |

I’d start Campbell on back to backs at this point.
The more I watch Freddy the more I can’t help but think the Leafs would already have had some deep playoff runs if we didn’t have him between the pipes.
I think Leafs fans were just so used to seeing a revolving door of sub-par goaltending in the years preceding Freddy we forgot what good goaltending actually looks like. |

Campbell game 1 on the playoffs.

I do think Campbell gets game 1 and 2, and then if they lose and he plays poorly, Andersen would start game 3.
Outside of that happening, I think it's Campbell all the way. |

exactly
Keefe would be out of his mind to risk a playoff game loss out of some faith/belief in Freddie shaping back into form...
it is not the time of year to "experiment"...
if Campbell wins the first two games, then perhaps you run Andersen out in Game 3 - just to give Campbell a break.

Andersen had good years in the beginning. So did Bernier. So did Reimer. He's not getting it done now, but the credit he received was fair. He was good.
