Ashbee was as old school as they come and he was a heart and soul player for the Broad Street Bullies. He is still beloved in Philly!
Rest In Peace, Ashcan

Being not quite old enough to see Barry Ashbee play, seeing the Flyers #4 retirement banner hanging from the rafters at the Spectrum was a given for me. But as a kid, I didn't understand why his number had been retired. Articles like this definitely resolve that question. RIP. |

Mr. Stewart - I'd love to know your opinion on the incongruity of Kadri getting an 8 game suspension for one high hit, and Wilson getting $5000 for a WWE audition on 2 defenseless players !!
There's some incongruity going on with the DoPS, and NHL Front Office assessing these disparate penalties.
In no way am I defending Kadri's actions, as needlessly hitting players with the intent to harm/maim should not be allowed in hockey, but handing out a penalty like this is not right.
Fighting will always be in the game, and is somewhat necessary, but intent to harm/maim is not. |

one of these years NHL should find consistent and decent NHL refs...abysmal performance by the red stripes this playoff...
call the game by the rules and knock off this Horse poop "playoff" hockey calls...
cross checks, slashes, trips, grabs they refuse to call...let alone all the post whistle bullpoop they let players get away...games get out of hand because the zebras all it...

Hey Stewart! Why don't you write something on here that explains the egregious playoff officiating that has been going on for the last 25 plus seasons and explain how the refs manipulate the games and outcomes and how the playoff officiating Is the biggest reason why there are so many OT contests. |
