in 12 games, Clutterbuck, Czizikas and Martin have a combined 160 hits
I dont think its fair just to label them a trap team, they forecheck and pound the hell out of the opponent
Islanders are a really really good team with the best coach in the NHL - jimbro83
Yea true, maybe not exactly a trap. They just really slowed the game down and took out the flow in the regular season. Working very well in the playoffs though and more entertaining to watch. |

there isn't one single reason Taylor Hall should get more money this summer than Kyle Palmieri |

While I would not advocate to jettison 1st rounders on a normal basis, If you believe your team is gonna make some noise in the playoffs, those late 20's picks are easier to give up.

it's turned out to be fantastic trade for Islanders getting Palmieri
it's on par with MSL did for the Rangers in 2014 so far |

The Islanders are build around their culture, adding Palmeri after the loss of Lee added the offense but did not disrupt that culture. It seems like he has been there forever.

That National Anthem last night was AMAZING!!!!! I actually liked Isles fans......for about 1min 15 sec.
Seriously, very proud to see fellow Long Islanders putting on that patriotic display. Good on them!!!!!!!!!!

Bet they bought it from Zajac. Someone pointed out last night that he looks like he's been on a total meth binge |

Tough to get upset with the Bolts for finding the loophole, but the Canes/players have every right to be annoyed with the league. They need to fix the rules and close up this type of situation.
But it wasn’t the Rangers, so they’ll probably leave it as is. |

nah i dont like it. it's a very NE Patriotsy way to run a franchise and few, if any, other teams are even close to a position to exploit it themselves |

I won't fault them for taking advantage of a loophole while it's still legal. But I would like to see the NHL do something about it going forward. Ideally after this year. |

I get not liking it but, like you said this is quite a unique circumstance. This only works because of the COVID season.
If this past season had been a normal 82 game schedule, I find it hard to believe that Kucherov would just sit out.

Eligible players must have their cap hit applied to as many regular season games as they would participate in playoff games. Seems simple.

In other words, the cap must be met with 28 games (or however many it is for the max #of games in the playoffs) left in the regular season in order to qualify as compliant? Given a player is on ltir and plans to play in playoffs. |

I'd prefer that the cap also applies to the playoffs. That would be easier. |

This would make the most sense. The cap is the same as the season. |

You could even allow a small overage to accommodate a mid season addition for an injury etc. |

Yea that could work too. But $18 mil, that's insane. |
