Fixed

Go Isles. As much as it hurts to say.
Easier for me, though. I only know one Isles fan!

I'm a NYR fan on Long Island. Isles are a great team the last few years, no doubt.

I have yet to meet an Isles fan who can give the Rangers a compliment w/out some sort of dig mixed in.

there were times yesterday where the Lightning looked about as clueless about what to do vs the Islanders as we did

Hopefully they will adjust. I can't tolerate the Islanders advancing to the SCF.

There has to be some loophole they can find to allow them to dress St. Louis and Lecavalier.

I'm pretty sure that would make them worse.

A sign the off-season is really revving up as the final four chase the Stanley Cup: Carolina has given Dougie Hamilton permission to talk to other NHL teams. Opens potential for a sign-and-trade.

yeah, it's a good bet he'd get the Trouba contract I think

maybe a little less because the flat cap didn't exist yet when we gave Trouba that deal

if this happens before expansion, the acquiring team also has to protect him

Bunch of reports out there Sam Reinhart might be on the block bc the Sabres have to qualify him at 5.2 for 1 year then he’s a UFA and don’t want to pay him. How would a Reinhart/Zib 1/2 look? I’d imagine the talks start at Kravtsov, one of Jones or Nils++ but I’m confident we wouldn’t need to include Kakko or Laf to get him.

Caveat, he’s absolutely atrocious at faceoffs.

That's a pretty big caveat.

Was Drury good at faceoffs?

He's been a Ranger-killer of late, but beating the Sabres really hasn't been the Rangers' problem. Still like him if the price doesn't include Kravtsov or Lundkvist. He's good, but not that good.

We should do everything we can to see if Scheifele is available

Meh -- not really, as long as there's some other guys on your team that can win them. Barzal stinks at the dot and I think most people would be happy to have him. Reinhart would be a very good get for you guys.

edit: I guess the Rangers don't really have anyone else that can win a faceoff, maybe I'd rethink that comment

Ehh, Reinhart isn't what NYR is looking for at center. Him and Strome are very similar.

Now Scheifele is more like it!!! A heavy center that NYR needs.

He plays a more physical game than Strome. Not sure if it's physical enough, and as stated above, he's not good enough on face-offs to pay a high price for him.

I'm in agreeance that Reinhart would be a great get but like you mention in your edit, no one else on the team can win a draw. They either need to teach them how to not be abysmal or bring in someone who can win draws.

Yea I didn't realize how bad the rest of the team was when I initially posted.

Krejci might be a good add for you guys if he doesn't re-sign in BOS. Not too much term, ideally, but he'd be a good veteran presence with a ton of playoff experience. Maybe some injury issues but I think he'd be a good fit.
