Slugs and hacks like that will not win a Cup. Flyers won doing that but that is ancient history. Those neanderthals from Long Island are going down

If you quantify a teams success by making the finals you’re not going to be happy with your teams performance too often

Making it to at least the second round and the Eastern conference finals last season and maybe this season so far is a pretty successful team no? Also, we’ve made it to the playoffs every season trotz has been coach he became coach 2018/19 so not sure what two years you’re referring to including this one? This blogger on hockeybuzz telling a team that made it to the second round and ECF consecutive seasons and maybe again this season to watch it step doesn’t have an understanding the teams system and how it works. Giving up shots is part of the system. All of these supposed hockey writers just can’t figure that out

Rask is hurt and it showed last night, anyone in the know, know that he was hurting even going back to the Caps series. Jarry was terrible in the first round. Lets put it this way, your system wont be productive against TB....not with their goalie!

Yep been hearing that for the last few years also. Goalies fault, refs fault now with some goalies fault also, Rask has been a wall save for last night. Varlamov lost two games and spotted them two goals against the pens which anyone who actually watched the entire series could tell you which you so obviously did not. Everyone needs an excuse for the islanders success and there always is one second round three consecutive seasons and ECF last season and possibly this season. Every, single, one of those teams were defeated by their goalies or refs. Everyone of them had the same excuse stream because after all we suck. Haha. Just like when we swept the pens two years ago. It was gods fault

You want to know why the pens really lost because I actually watched the series unlike you? Check how many points Sidney Crosby had. He was shut down. He played like a sieve like half of their blue line. They couldn’t clear the front of the net. Just like the Bruins last night. That’s why they lost but blame Jarry because why not

Exactly. The Isles will give you the outside perimiter long distance shots. They guard the middle of the ice like it's Alcatraz. Isles forwards and D do a great job of working together to shut down lanes to the net. They'll cut you off and lead you to the boards. Clear rebounds. Allow their goalies to see the puck.

Shots on goal are irrelevant. Show me high danger scoring chances for and against. I bet Isles players and coaches get a great laugh when people talk about how they give up so many shots. Trotz did the same thing in Nashville and Washington. It's no coincidence why Trotz wins everywhere he goes.

The Isles play as a team and they never get rattled. They just keep coming at you shift after shift and force you to muck it up in the trenches. They wait you out and pounce on your mistakes. It's very effective. Lou has given Trotz the kinds of players he wants and needs to play his system.

Isles are a goalies dream. Just ask Lehner, Greiss, Varly and now Sorokin.
