Thanks.

I really like Hughes. I didn't want to like him this much.

Next up is your boy Eklund i think

Hughes would have taken over the the number 1 spot if he was fully healthy style he plays like is thomas chabot

After reviewing Hughes, Beniers and Power, I gotta say I think I have hughes at #1

He's the most dynamic of the three players imo.

And he's so young

Many had been saying that anywhere in the top four or five this year will yield an impact player with all of those prospects grading out very close to each other

Admittedly I haven't put nearly enough time into Hughes like I have for some of the other guys.

I feel like he's more of a Karlsson from his draft year than Chabot. The tools are stronger with Hughes than they were with Chabot, where as the tools are very similar to 2008 Karlsson. The skating, stride, edgework, agility, puck skills, offensive upside..

Hopefully he can significantly improve his defensive game.

We did this at #8 last year, come up with something original.

Not sure I want that action for 5OA, but it would be interesting to see 3 young guns like that get drafted simultaneously by the worst team in the league. Could be a lot of fun or an absolute nightmare.

Very well done. I think I would prefer Zegras and 3 over the Byfield package.

I'm all for us choosing bpa, whomever that may be, but if we're gonna take a dman I'd be happier with a solid, sturdy one whose best attribute is defending. We are full of mobile, "puck-movers" but as a team are not that great at actual defense.

I have super-high hopes for Borgen but aside from him, who else can we remotely refer to as a shutdown blueliner?

edit: ok, Samuelsson projects as that role, too, but both he and Borgen are still unproven.

I think there's plenty of room for Hughes to improve on his d game when he fills out his frame. He's not a little guy at 6'2"
