Question for the group -

I go home on lunch today, grab my mail. In with the envelopes is an unmarked Bank envelope, literally no name, no anything attached, with 4 figures worth of cash inside.

My next door neighbor owns a landscaping company, so it's possible someone left it for him, however how the (frank) would someone get the completely wrong house, and not leave their name or my neighbors name on the envelope?

Should i approach my neighbor? Or sit on it and wait and see if he comes over? I don't want to make it look like I'm trying to steal it but I also shouldn't assume an unmarked envelope is his

This i dont understand and I made my company aware of this.

Yea ill do t every so often but ive told them im not working all of the time just because I work from home.

I bust my ass for 40-45 a week and im done. I refuse to waste my life constantly working.

Burnout in this country is a hue problem.

People say kids have no worth ethic these days, but IMO they see European kids traveling, taking vacations and living life while they are forced to work 50-60 hours a week for minimum pay and there biggest cost of life is health insurance and their boss couldnt give two SH*** about them.

Do the right thing. Ask him if he was expecting an unmarked envelope. If not... that's the best you can do.

Hell, no.

"yes" is the answer every time, even if he wasn't.

Id sit on it for a week. If nobody came knocking on my door asking if I had an envelope of money, than like Mr. Pachla said:

Problem is he's kind of on the shady side, and if god forbid the mailman had cashed his paycheck and accidentally had it in his mailbag or something bizarre, I don't want to give it away.

I just can't get over someone leaving this much with no name attached, and not knowing where this guy lives if it's indeed his.

It's not like our mailboxes are next to each other, they are on the sides of our houses which are totally separate

Turn it into police. If no one claims in a certain time you are entitled to it

I'd gamble on Cossa with 33, personally. Gotta remember, these guys are years away. Wallstedt probably 2-3.

It probably belongs to the mailman. Maybe he stopped at the bank in route and accidentally put it in your mailbox.

Yeah it's definitely possible.

I find it so odd that someone would have the confidence to purposely leave this amount of cash completely unmarked, and yet not know exactly what house he/she was at.

It's what's giving me pause on potentially handing it over to my neighbor

All he has to do is ask how much money's in the envelope and that will seal the deal imo

The easiest way to identify the true owner is ask them to verify the amount. I'd wait till they come to you looking for it.

I realize this, but this also comes off as pretty rude to assume he might be lying.

I think whoever dropped it off, and my neighbor will easily figure out he went to the wrong house, if it indeed is his, and can come get it

The last thing I want to potentially do is give it to him and have it be the mailman's, or who knows someone left it there for me. Crazier things have happened.

I think I'll hold it for 2-3 days and then do the police thing
