He did.

He clarified that he didn't have an issue with it, it just tells you how good that Tampa Bay team is.

Disagree
All they need is for Seattle to take Gourde or Tyler Johnson & then buy the other out
That’s “fairly easy” imo

Even if Seattle doesn’t take a contract like that off their hands,
then they can buy both out & still squeeze in enough Vets at minimum salary to field a decent team

- jdfitz77

It'll be a lot tighter than that. They will have to have a roster of about 21/22 as opposed to 23. Can be done, not ideal (source: created a team on CF, and did what you said, had TJ taken, bought out Gourde, and had guys on the scratches filling out the roster all on league min. They were -330000 over the cap with 23 players)

Vegas wants Eichel badly, win or lose.

Also, Eichel will be gone before next season begins.

yeah they're currently $5 million over the cap for next season with only 19 NHL contracts signed.

I never said it wouldn’t be tight
So after those 2 “easy” moves, they’d only need to make 1 more to get the Cap Space they’d need
OR
they can wait till someone gets hurt & put them on LTIR to get some Cap Room

THE POINT....
which some keep missing....
is that Tampa won’t be in position to be “taken advantage” of like another poster suggested
They’ll squeak by like they always do

Peyton Krebs +Glass + another piece might work

Krebs is legit

Seems like he’s on the Mittelstadt development program

He was a heck of a prospect
But hasn’t done much at all since turning pro-
not even in the AHL

He’s still just 22
But there’s no way I’d want him as one of the main pieces in an Eichel trade

Their 1st round picks won’t be that attractive either, said nice they’ll all be towards the end of the round (presumably)

Idk if they’ve got the pieces to get Eichel

Semantics
It’s a situation that they can resolve with us being able to take advantage of them- as another poster wants us to do

If u don’t like the word “easy” then pick another one- idc

The point is that Tampa can make it work
Like they always do

- jdfitz77

I said call them, they still have players that they won't be able to protect, and might want a pick for such player to protect someone else or use that pick to sway them towards someone else.

When did I ever say take advantage off, I said I would call them before the Expansion draft, and stop saying another poster, it was me everyone.

I like Krebs a lot but Vegas doesn't have very good pieces in my opinion for me

The first will be so late also

All I see is another teams trash ….. if I’m trading Eichel. I’m getting an elite prospect back.

The player has to have amazing potential. Krebs doesn’t move the needle

Well presumably you’re “calling them” to make a deal bc they have Cap issues
Or did i misunderstand you?

Also.... i didn’t feel the need to specifically call you out, bc many think similar thoughts about taking advantage of Tampa’s situation
I did as well till i investigated further

Not bad
But why is Fleury waiving to come here?
I don’t see it
Especially now that he’s held off Lehner & solidified his starter role

Not Cap issues, could have protection issues, just like Minnesota could have issues in that aspect. And with Tampa not having a 1st or 2nd this year or a 2nd next year, maybe something could happen.

We want better for Eichel.

That’s why the people on the byfield bandwagon. Byfield is a giant question mark still. He didn’t show much in the ahl

For jack eichel. That’s not remotely close enough
