How come no one talks about the B's core being aged? Marchand is 33 both Bergeron and Krejci are 35. Pasta is young and awesome of course but so is Jakey, only 2 years apart in age...for the record, yes, I think Pasta is the superior player of the two.
Interestingly enough the Bruins had 56.25 HDCF% at 5 on 5 but only converted 4 goals on 54 HDSC. The Isles at 43.75 HDSC% had 9 goals on 42 HDSC's. That a pretty big discrepancy.
Wanted to see how this compared to the Pens series...52.25% to 47.75% for the Pens HDSC%....58 HDSC's for Pens to 53 for Isles...but...they outscored the Pens 8-6 in HDSC's.
Isles very rarely outshot the opposition or get more HDSC's but get more HDSC goals none the less... - MattStrat
Everyone talks about that, and them being a 1 line team, and not being as good as the media makes them out to be. I got a few Boston guys on my beer league team and they talk about how poorly constructed that roster is all the time lol

I think a lot of people see the Bruins as a team where the window is closing. The one thing they have going for them that teams like the Pens and Caps don't is their 2 best players are 25 and 23 so they can rebuild around them. |

I only say a team or player sucks when they actually suck. |

Hahaha, yeah I feel like every time people were like "I am worried about Boston in the first round" that's when people chimed in that they're a one line team lol |

It seemed to me like myself and Grinder were the least concerned about the Bruins in a potential round 2 matchup. I constantly said I thought the Pens could beat them....but I dont think they suck and personally have never really considered their ages and window closing until today.

We just don't talk about them as much. I did think they had a second line this year because they looked so good after getting Hall, but I should have known he'd disappear when it got tough. |

Hall did have a xGF of 5.03 and a 66.67 HDSC% at 5 on 5 in that series...thats pretty nuts haha.
There's a fine line between producing or not.

Yeah I never really felt like they were a top tier contender. |

I never either, one of the reasons I thought Pens would beat them this postseason if they met up...theyre still a good team though, just not top tier. |

I did think Boston was best in the division by a slim margin. But not top tier. Always felt like Tampa, Colorado, LV, and maybe Carolina were ahead of everyone. |

Carolina still needs more scoring/shooting talent. |

I don't think LeTang or Malkin are untouchable. If the offer is right, you make that move. However, with a healthy Crosby, Malkin and Carter up the middle for next season, that would be solid. Hopefully, a Legare or Poulin can come in and give some constant energy to this team. Joseph adds depth to the backline. NEED an upgrade at Goaltending. Jarry has to play better. |

Goaltending isn’t the issue. Can’t win in the playoffs averaging 2.5 goals per 60. |

If Carolina doesn't bring back Martinook. He might be a good option for the Pens. He's not a huge player, but he plays the type of game Hextall would like. I'm sure CAR re-signs him though. |

I'm not totally against it if he comes in at a good price...

If the Pens are trying to bring in a vet to play with Jarry I don't think they can afford someone who would match his price. IMO they'd be bringing in someone making less and I don't see Andersen signing for less than $3.5M. If he comes in around $1.5/$2? That would be great and they can probably send DeSmith out for a late pick.

7 mill combined cap hit for your two goalies is still very good. |

Not arguing that, but it doesn't fit the Pens budget.
