Haha I know.
But really. Zucker and Petts gone is 9.5m in cap. Desmith and Ruh to AHL is almost another 2. So you’d have 7m for a goalie and winger.
2.5-3M for Tatar
4-4.5M for a goalie. - Feds91Stammer
Love it. Bring on Tatar. Maybe kuemper as well. Andersen is a choker. While steady from normal shots he is weak when you get him moving laterally. |

I don't think Tatar will be Hex's first or even second choice based on what we know as far the type of players they will target.
Also, moving Zucker and Pettersson doesn't necessarily clear up 100% depending what salaries they may have to take back. Unless the Pens can make a good trade for Zucker, it's more ideal he gets picked up in the draft.
I'm not saying the Pens can't increase their goalie budget, but them already being in a difficult situation just to keep some of what they have is tricky. - Rinosaur
Oh most GMs won’t target Tatar as he’s basically the most underrated forward in the league at this point. He’d be a cheap add the would bring 1LW performance. But I get he won’t be a Burkxtal target. |

He also clearly didn't read my post regarding what I said about the dmen and doesn't grasp the concept of creating a starting point of what the Pens will have to start dealing. - Rinosaur
Sounds like you are being combative to me. |

Thinking outside the box for a moment. What about a Zucker/Fleury swap and then the Pens can move Jarry or expose him in the draft. I feel like it makes sense for both teams. Regardless of what happens Vegas will have to address their goalie situation after this season.

I'm a realist, man. Neither optimist or pessimist. I didn't even think Pens were making the playoffs this season before it started but do believe if you make the postseason you do have a chance... And no, there arnt many like me |

Lmao. Well I wasn’t Implying that was his set roster. A couple (riko and Ruhw) will be sent down or claimed. But that’s still an atrocious amount of money for a mediocre defence. My starting point at moving someone would be left D which I highly doubt Seattle does us a favour of taking petts or MM. is that spelt out enough? |

Oh for sure. The gateway to a better roster is totally dependent on moving Zucker and Petts imo. Not sure how difficult that will be. |

I think it would be worth talking to Seattle about offering a pick to take either. If they take zar or blueger, even tanev, we lose a good player that doesn’t really help the cap situation that much. Petts would be ideal as he can easily be replaced by Poj in house. Zucker would have to be a ufa/trade or hope the Poulin is close which I doubt for another year. |

Zucker grew up in Vegas, so I could see him possibly waiving based on that.

@TOJO: Take a look at this and tell me how the Pens double their goalie budget. For reference I made the following signings.
Teddy $2.25M
ZAR $2M
Freddy $800K
Over the cap by $3.8M
This doesn't include who they may lose in the draft because we really don't know and obviously not all of those dmen will be on the roster. No room to re-sign Ceci. They need to move players just to get cap compliant, so how do you do even more to make room to add more than $2M to the goalie budget without sacrificing any other quality?
Not trying to be combative, but I just don't see how it's possible to strike a balance throughout the lineup while increasing the goalie budget.
- Rinosaur
Like MacPatty said, almost everyone has Pettersson and Zucker moving for cap space. If you add a goalie, you also subtract DeSmith and Jarry. Riikola should be gone too, no reason to spend over 1M on your 9th defenseman. That's 12.5M. Some of that has to go to goalie because they can't have a repeat of last year and that is the biggest need. |
