Anthony Travalgia: Defenseless The Bruins mismanaged the puck at will in Game 6, and with it, their season comes to an end.

Chara was gassed and did not pull Was through to 2nd round.
Krug would not have made a difference in this series.

Losing Miller and Carlo certainly did hurt. We seem to have key injuries on our defense every playoffs.

But Bruins had a lot of passengers - not working hard enough and too easily pushed off the puck. DeBrusk & Kuraly looked soft as baby-poo out there.

Too many times the entrys to NYI zone was interrupted when forwards failed to get the puck deep. And I lost count of the number of times forwards could not clear our own zone.

Yeah, D was weak and NYI scored. But our forwards could do squat-all unless they had a PP. The blame can be placed on both the D and the forwards.

At least Tuukka stuck it out this time and didn't bail over a toothache and a cavity

Swayman will be the starting goalie next year. Hope they can get Krejci and Hall on friendly deals. Dcore definitely needs to get a little stronger as well.

If you are going to criticize then get your facts straight. His daughter was sick and he didn't want her exposed to Covid. Not unreasonable at all. Rask haters like yourself need to get a life!!

This (frank)ing team is groundhog day except for that one time it worked out. (frank)ing loser franchise and will continue to be until Jacobs dies/sells out/a meteor hits. (frank) this (frank)ing team.

The 1st line was worn down this series. TOI was way off with the rest of forwards.

Krug was a liability against the Blues a couple years ago, and chara proved in the first round what he had left. They definitly needed more depth, but those two werent it. Bruins got outplayed, the better team won.

Problem as I saw it was no secondary scoring Taylor Hall was mostly invisible and the only ones producing was Marchand Pasta and Bergeron Other than that.....Everyone was a passenger. You cannot win like that unless the other team is built the same
Granted bad officiating had a lot to do with it also but you need to have more threats to score. I would not sign Hall. Waste of money IMO

Give the Islanders credit, they played well.
It does seem that every playoffs, critical dmen are forced to sit. Secondary scoring again disappointed.
As a player, you don’t have to score every 2 games…but you need to be responsible defensively.

Chara and Krug would have made no difference in the outcome. The loss of Miller and Carlo were the death knell of the Bruins this playoff season. The loss of the only two "true" defensemen was insurmountable.

Rinse and repeat...for whatever reason, our d-men can't make it through a post-season and until that somehow changes we are going nowhere. Is that coaching (teaching better on-ice awareness to avoid damaging hits)? Is that on the training staff (better strength and conditioning, etc.)? Or is it just pure dumb luck? I don't know but nothing has changed in that regard in several years. We go into the post season missing a key defenseman and/or losing one or more during the playoffs...hard to recover from that.

I'm hoping for a similar transformation with Carlo like Krejci. It wasn't long ago that Krejci couldn't stay on the ice to save his life and was Mr. Glass. In the last few seasons that has changed and Krecji is just about the ironman of the fwd group. Right now Carlo is Mr. Glass but if that can change things might look up.

Should be an interesting summer...
I would be shocked if Debrusk is not traded, his value is not that good unfortunately.

Palmieri continues to be a Bruins slayer, no matter what sweater he's wearing. That was a cheap shot on McAvoy though and I knew we were done when there was no response at all from our group to that hit. How Palmieri didn't have to answer for it is beyond me...embarrassing.

It's weird how some Vancouver fans are STILL butt-hurt over 2011.

What else can explain their trolling when they yet again did not make it to the playoffs?

It's not like we are rivals and play them regularly...

Pretty piss poor performance from the back end. How is Krugs replacement Gryz looking right about now? I had feeling this could bite the Bruins this year rolling with a young d core and not properly assessing Krug and Charas value.
