That’s odd considering they are 2nd and 4th in 5v5 takeaways the last 3 seasons. Seems a lot like your Vrana/Helm take on this one.

In which zones? Again, the eye test. I’m not going to argue this over and over but the lack of defense in the “big boys” seems to cost them in the post. I know where you’re at. You know where I’m at. Please be respectful. You’re not here to “correct me” and I’m not trying to correct you.

I mentioned kopitar and Crosby as part of the elite guys heading out. Getzlaf used to be a beast for sure

You’re good H2. Love seeing you pop in! Do you still have a full house up north?

No, but I found out that my automatic generator works! Had a bunch over for MIL b-day party and a lightning strike took out my power, internet and one TV(that was not on, but only ruined the HDI1 port). I was fortunate I could watch hockey on the other TV. Off to Gaylord tomorrow for the weekend!

The lack of playoff success for McDavid and Draisitl isn't because they are cheating for offense. A total absence of depth scoring is the bigger cause. Under Tippett, McDavid has actually changed his game to come lower in the zone. There is so much attention to his offense that he doesn't get enough credit for his defensive play. Draisitl is also a 2-way force, but the guy logs so many minutes that he's practically forced to take shifts off here and there. You cut back his minutes (again - need more depth) and he would very easily emulate a guy like Kopitar. So I have to say I totally disagree with your take. I'll give you Matthews, although he has improved.

I can appreciate the back and forth. I just see him at the top of the d zone a lot. For me, personally, if he’s at the net front he would be unbeatable as a 2 way center. The depth and minutes are dead on. The team is challenged to get that and reduce those minutes. Very well put together, and I’m happy to agree to disagree. No good guys, no bad guys. Thanks for dropping that

Ok, glad it worked! I’ve looked at the natural gas generators a few times. I’ll have them send you referral credit if I pull the trigger.

Slippery slope to suggest McDavid hangs out at the blueline while guys like Bergeron, Crosby, Malkin are "at the net front" in the defensive zone. Probably a bit of selective sampling going on. But whatever.
