100% yes. Add a piece or two on the backend and this team is solid. Can’t put the shortcomings completely on the coach. |

Can you just give me the Coles notes, I'm not an Instagramer.. haha - JetFuel
He posted a series of pictures from this year.
Jets camp, Moose, Finland, WJC, and ended it with the Bernie Sanders sitting meme that had his own face on it.
He’s sending a shot across the bow at not being played |

We were bad in 18-19 with Buff and Trouba back there, along with the still great version of Morrissey |

Hmmmm……interesting. But I believe it is like you say a shot across the bow.
Montreal was playing their young guys and they performed well so Heinola has a good point.
This is one area where I am not satisfied with the coach as he needs to get these young guys in the game. Hopefully Chevy has figured this out and quit signing these spent duds like Thomson.
If he is determined to sign these old geezers, then sign Perry that can still play hard and score.
Time for this mgmt group to wake up. |

*whispers* Chevy has openly talked about how the young defencemen need to play on multiple occasions. It’s Maurice. |

we were also bad for 90% of enstrom's career.
bottom line,
tall, short, weak, strong doesn't matter at all!!!! good is good and bad is bad. too many assumptions are made from both sides!!! to many think a small guy equals weak and also to many assume a tall guy equals slow

Playoff hockey is not even about speed (or size) as much as it is about the ability to make plays when checking is tight. Conversely it is about the ability to tighten up the checking. |

The Jets finished 31st overall or dead last in the league in high danger chances against this season. They have been a bottom 5 team in 7 of Maurice’s 8 years in that stat. The Jets PK is 22nd overall during Maurice’s entire run as coach.
Nothing in Maurice’s coaching suggests that he has the ability to coach his players to tighten up checking.
The man wins based on luck and the fact he has talent that can outcoach bad systems he puts into place.
It’s unfortunate that the entire coaching staff will come for another season. Another season where young player developments will not occur, another season where Vezina goalie Connor Hellebyuck will be relied upon to stand on his head, and another season where Maurice will wooo the Winnipeg media with talks about hot dogs, hamburgers and Pizza’s. |

Vegas in the semi-finals in 2 out the last 4 years. Both appearances were made with different coaching staffs. |

Also:
NHL.com shows that on average year over year there are 40% more hits thrown in playoffs than regular season.
That’s a significant difference |

Maurice should be replaced as in 8 years this team hasn't improved even with much better players due to lack of systems, extremely poor use of personnel and many other factors that should be addressed by a decent head coach. This teams only wins because Helly is such a great goalie and will struggle to make the playoffs next season with Maurice as their coach. |

In 2015, during Maurice’s first draft as the full-time coach, this team picked 17th overall. This year they will be picking 18th overall. |

Listening to Maurice presser now, he's saying Vesalainen and Harkins are nowhere close to being ready to replacing Lewis, Thompson or Perreault.
Neither kill penalties so they're not getting in and neither are ready(or good enough in Maurice’s opinion I guess?) to replace Perreault on the 2nd powerplay unit is what he said.
He also doesn't see the point in playing them 8 minutes on the 4th line, guess I agree with him on that point.
So there it is folks, expect more of the same next season with the bottom end of the lineup and no changes in the top 9 unless there's injuries, that is if Copp re-signs obviously.
I won't be surprised if Perreault and one of Thompson and Lewis sign another cheap one year deal, Gustaffson is likely a Moose again next year maybe idk.
Ugh, so sick of seeing the kids blocked by retreads every damn year. |

Is pathetic, I’m sorry!!! I really am
But listening to Maurice’s presser is a joke!!
We tried to get the younger guys in but we were very healthy. Also Maurice, Wheeler played with broken ribs.
Like who cares that Wheeler was on the ice for 70% of our goals against while playing hurt, no way we can let a young healthy guy play.
Maurice would love to have forbot back next year. And not play Heinola for a other year.
He actually said, Vesalainen, Harkins and Gustafson are not even close to Thompson and Lewis, and he related. Not even close!! Like seriously!! How does he even know that??? Not like he’s given them a chance. And how good does he think Thompson and Lewis are.
Eight years of the same garbadge coming out this guys mouth every year, enough already!!!! |

Minor changes will effect ticket sales 100%.
Already harder to get rid of tickets than it used to be but this stubbornness/loyalty is enough.
heinola needs to get faster but would love to have Forbort back? Wtf??? Forbort could be the slowest player in the league |

This franchise is becoming a laughing stock. It’s time to get rid of Chevelallseasonoff and Uncle Paul or Mediocre Maurice. |

So Wheeler is hurt and goes -4 one game vs Mtl and he is Maurice’s choice on the PP over Ehlers?
One game Appleton, Copp and Perrault had more PP time than Ehlers, that is grounds for dismissal lol how can you make these decisions. |

It's coaching man... Chevy isn't the problem. Chevy was the one pushing to see more Heinola, and PoMo didn't want him interfering. PoMo is the one not playing Harkins/Stanley/Appleton where they should be while Wheels is gassed every shift. Some Vets are great. I'd love to see Stastny back, and if they Jets get a sniff at inking cheap one years on Spezza/Perry, sign em up! Lewis/Thompson/Beaulieu/Forbort can all walk free and easy. Perrault too if he wants more than 1.5M AAV - bikeguy99
So....Maurice is Chevy's boss (in your opinion) ?
CHEV- Paul, I'd like you play Heinola more.
PAUL - sorry, not in the plan...go get me Jordie Benn.
CHEV - Sure Paul, whatever you want, no problem.

So what you are saying is that Maurice is unable to evaluate talent on this team and that he essentially needs the GM to save him from himself from making poor coaching decisions. |

Ehlers ice time has been baffling! The guy is essentially a Paul Kariya/Pavel Bure type of player, yet Uncle Paul is unable to recognize how talented he is. |

Did Maurice mention or was asked about Gustafsson? I didn't hear his name, just Vesalainen and Harkins was the forwards I heard mentioned.
I especially chuckled at the part about them not killing penalties, well wtf is the development plan with the Moose if these guys aren't learning to PK? Also the Jets PK is terribly passive, if you can stand on your skates you can kill penalties for the Jets, pretty sure those young guys can stand on ice.. Lol
And the not getting ahead of Perreault on the powerplay is laughable too, often both powerplay units get stagnant and could use a change so why not try Vesalainen or Harkins on it, I know I've been calling for/would like to see it, also (frank)ing hilarious that a guy with a shot like Vesalainen can't get ahead of the stonehands brothers Lowry and Copp on the second powerplay.. 😂
And people think this guy is doing a good job, it's no surprise young talent gets frustrated and wants out, there's NO denying it now since the evidence is coming straight from the coach's mouth, can't always blame it on the city as SO many want to constantly do. No doubt the Winnipeg Jets have challenges in attracting free agents and keeping some players but there's NO denying that the coach's decisions drive some guys out, can't ALWAYS blame it on the size of the city, taxes, weather, etc. |
