Matthews needs to score more than one goal over a 7 game series.

He was certainly better than Marner - but still well below what should be expected.

- Leafs43

dude, he hit so many posts and Price played well.. It's not like Matthews wasn't getting 4 shots on goal per game

I can't take credit for that style.......this guy can, I had a mask painted to match that gear tribute better than my Palmateer one also.

Campbell didn't lose the Leaf's series, but he didn't do anything to sway it their way either. To advance in playoffs, you NEED a goalie to steal a few games. He did not. No goalie the Leafs have had the past few years has stolen a game in the playoffs. Just look at Varlamov/Sorokin. Both have won a game or two in the first two rounds that the Isles had NO business winning.

Playoff winners win b/c they are constructed from a goalie and defense first mentality.

I thought Campbell was great and the stats prove that.

It’s obvious the Leafs lost because only 1 out of the 4 stars were scoring.

If they score we are sitting here talking how great of a series Campbell had.

Trading or signing an expensive goalie would be ridiculous.

The only forwards who had ok series were Kerfoot, Nylander and Spezza

Sorry, and Hyman was ok

- Canada Cup

I thought Hyman was bad.

He was probably still injured.

totally agree with this.

even when Campbell played well, Price played just a bit better.
year after year its the same story

- senstroll

Idk man. Campbell was a top 5 performer for this team in the playoffs.

You could argue he was right behind Nylander.

I think most have understood the leafs lost because the big boys weren’t there...I’ll give JT a pass...

They could use a really good forward that plays mean. Better than Hyman.

Don’t be so quick to make that assumption.

Damn quotes not working.

Galactic Fossil Hunter…I responded to you.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him turn up again. Hopefully he goes off to Cory Cross Island and stays there.

If you scouted me at a 10pm Wed night beer league game....You would Definitely NOT want me unless your goal was to tank for the #1 pick in the draft.

I wouldn’t say he was “bad”

but…..

He made Mikheyev look like a sniper with all of the chances he missed

Probably. Looked a lot slower than he did most of the year. Wasn't able to win the puck battles you expect from him.

It is kind of funny that they traded for Foligno to have a "Hyman" on both top lines and both went down to knee injuries and couldn't skate and do the things that make both successful.

As much as Spezza is a star, I'm not sure you can count him in the top 4 star guys on the team at his point in his career

Well Foligno hurt his back according to CJ. The dude shouldn’t even have been playing.

Can we talk about how amazing Lou is and how losing Tavares, known locker room cancer and on-ice liability, was the best thing to happen to the Islanders?

The Leafs lost a series after being up 3-1 to an inferior (even with Tavares out) team.

The number 1 centerman, rocket Richard winning, highest paid player on the team better have had a god like performance if he wants to escape criticism.

He didn't have that type of performance.

Lou hired Trotz.

I give 99.99% of the credit to Trotz.

He had .861 in the one game which brought it down.

I think you are being over technical here. Every goalie in the league has low SV% games.

He had a .934 SV%. Which is very very good.
