Im happy with this. Now they need to bring in the proper pieces to complete the puzzle.

With Drury at the helm and Gallant behind the bench, Im optimistic that the team becomes a bit more interesting for potential targets.

I understand that some would have preferred Brind'Amour however I cant imagine that the Rangers would have been his first choice anyway. Pretty sure if he decides to walk hes going to go team up with his buddy Ron Francis in Seattle.

Gallant rolls four line and loves having a Heavyweight enforcer on his teams

Carp is thinking Dan Girardi may come back as an assistant coach under Gallant.

Going to be interesting to see who he brings in since he's an experienced HC unlike Quinn who had his possible replacements on the bench with him.

Hated when we signed AV, didn’t know what to expect with Quinn. Gallant was the guy I wanted, I think he’s the right choice.

Possible, but it’s only been a year since he signed on with Buffalo.

He might prefer structured heavy play, but his teams strongly tend to dictate play so he is definitely a good hire.

2 things:

1) PLD had his worst season as a pro at faceoffs this year

2) You completely forgot Strome in your lineup

1) that’s the best time to buy him. He centered Panarin in CBJ and I would almost guarantee he’d be a 70+ point guy centering him again, we can work on his faceoffs, only up from here haha.

2) I didn’t, trade him for some picks to free up cap space.

I can see Gallant giving TonyD another shot. He plays the type of game Gallant likes and TonyD wasn’t a locker room problem, his problem was with Quinn and JD/Gorts. All 3 are gone now, time for a fresh start.

I thought Gallant was the best of the realistic coaching options, I didn’t think Brind’amour was realistic and if they went down that path they could have really blown it with Gallant.

No matter who the coach was gonna be, one of the biggest issues is going to be how to manage the ice time of Panarin, Lafreniere and Kreider

None of them are going anywhere for the next 4 years at least, so figuring that out how to get the best out of all three left wingers is going to be quite a challenge.

Very happy with the hire. I remember I couldn’t believe when Vegas let him go. He brought a 1st year team to the cup final ffs lol. That fact was enough for me to want him coaching my team

Reaves definitely could be a Ranger. Gallant obviously knows him. And obviously we could use him. He isn’t just a goon which is good

Good first move by Drury.

Added sentimental value because yesterday was the anniversary of the 1994 Cup Win.

All of us Rangers fans will have "JD derangement syndrome" for the foreseeable future, but Gallant and Drury deserve their chance.

Better days are on the way for the Rangers and yesterday's hiring is just the beginning.
