I would think some of the "shuffling" for Reinhart would be Buffalo taking on Rous or Beags. It would depend on how much $$ and term he wants... he's 28, and as you were pointing out yesterday on those big contracts for players signed at that age, it'll more-than-likely turn into an anchor before the contract is done.

What I struggle to understand is how posters on here and radio pundits keep beating the poor D drum like last year was not an outlier

The coaching shake-up and a fresh new regular year will do wonders.

We need a solid partner for roverboy, let's see how Rathbone , Woo look like next season .

The simplest way to fix the D is to score more goals

Demko is going to be a star goalie , that alone will augment the defense

I think you need to look up the meaning of outlier.

a person or thing situated away or detached from the main body or system

Is not the last year's season done away from the regular system that players and teams are used to ?

Maybe I could have chosen a better word, but nevertheless it is not completely wrong

I wasn't told that I needed a PhD in English vocabulary and word usage to post on hockeybuzz. 🤔

That Co-Op station near Parksville is in better shape than the Canucks D.

They’ve been among the worst for several years. Last year wasn’t an outlier, it was more of the same. Could it get better? Sure. Probably. Likely. But it isn’t bouncing back to something great.

I think with a bit more structure and a system tweak where the forwards back check more will really help.
I'm really looking forward to the input Shaw will have , but unfortunately it comes down to the players buying in.
Chemistry and group cohesion matters the most, the guys gotta want it together, this is where the disparaging age groups matter , the old guys have to find ways to befriend and make the team an all accepting unit.

I heard John Herdman today and man I wish that guy coached hockey, if I was the Canucks, I would move heavan and earth to get John Cooper to come home , after he wins another cup of course 😉

I'd rather go hard after Adam Larsson , to pair with QH , his defensive numbers are elite and is no so old that they can't play a few years together

I gave a cap scenario for him and Ceci. If Sedins have influence then maybe they land Landy and give him more $ then Avs can.

I thought you were trying to point out how the defense has gotten worse, every year.

I think 17-18 or 18-19 was the low point. I have no doubt that it will be better next season than it was last season, both from a personnel perspective and a coaching perspective.

My favorite was Ohlund, I wish we could have seen him in peak condition, I believe he played most of his career with 70% in his dominant eye for the left side he played, and he still was great.
A healthy Ohlund and a Bourdon very well could have changed this teams fortune

Ohlund was a beauty. Memory refresher, he signed a five year, $10m offer sheet with the Leafs in 1997. It included $7.5m in signing bonus!

"It would be difficult to successfully pull this transaction off, but it present no real downside for the Flyers and plenty of opportunity."
