I don't think Kane would have the success that he has today if he was drafted by Philly, imo. - KGBflyers10
You sure? Giroux feeding pucks to Kane seems like a lot of goals would result. Kane is the sniper the Flyers have been missing.

Would’ve been kept at G’s wing and been the player Claude needed and deserved to have for over a decade. Kane’s numbers would have been similar. Giroux, on the other hand, would likely either be passing Clarke in points, or already ahead, for the team’s all time charts. - Hesh_
Nah, maybe at the same pace for the same point in his career, but no where near passing him. Clarke is 352 points ahead. That is an extra 25 points per season Giroux would have to average to be past Clarke at this point. |

I agree G probably would not be ahead of Clarke right now. He undoubtedly would be on pace to do so if Kane was a Flyer. Real question, would Kane have worn 88 in Philly?

Did Hextall move down in the draft so he could pick Rubstov? - bradster
He moved down so he could pick up an early 2nd round pick and still get one on the 2-3 players they were looking at for round one. |

Did they try to move up for Chychrun? Why didn't he like him? |

Instead of Eichel who is likely one good cross check in front of the net away from being done forever, the Flyers would be better off to target a player like Mitch Marner.
Marner and Eichel roughly the same type of player, both players have roughly the same stats over their careers. Marner has a little higher cap hit but would likely be avilable for less draft picks and top end prospects than Buffalo would want for Eichel.
Send one of Myers or Sanheim along with Patrick and a defence prospect not named York to Toronto for Marner. |

I don't know if they tried to move up for him. Flyers have always liked Chychrun but it's not as simple as "we like him, let's move up."
I am friendly with Jeff Chychrun. He lives in Florida but his wife (Jake's mom) is originally from South Jersey and they met while Jeff played for the Flyers. |

Well he went at 16 they were sitting at 18. Couldn't have been that hard.
Remember when Troy Crowder knocked him out. Career was never the same. Was solid D before that

Toronto is not looking to trade Marner so you would have to blow them away to get him. They would hang up the phone on that offer.

Kane was immature for his age in Chicago, surround him with Carter, Richards, Upshall, and Lupul and I think he gets traded away.

Maybe, but I think we win the cup in 2010 with him here before he gets ruined...I would trade that for the miserable last 11 years

I believe the whole deal of what you are referring to is one of the most overblown situations in Flyers history. Kane is a star and and a hall of fame player the likelihood of him being the same player here is extremely high.

The 'Hawks weren't exactly full of mature characters, either.
Not to mention the coach that was sexual assaulting players at the time.
Kane would have had to deal w/ less BS as a Flyer. |

It doesnt IMO
Flyers made TDL deals to bring in Biron (2nd round pick + TJ Brennen) and Coburn (Zhitnik) for UFA rentals. Flyers dont really have UFAs to move
Timonen wise, trading for S.Jones is probably equivalent.
Flyers didnt touch the core at all. The following players were still on the roster: Gagne, Knuble, Richards, Carter, Umberger. They mostly just replaced a lot of the aged supporting cast such as Hatcher, Sanderson, York, Calder, Robitaille, Rathje ect.
Flyers arent really looking to remove too many players. They def want a D for sure but aside from that they basically just want NoPa, Konecny, Lindblom, Sanheim, Myers and Hart to bounce back.
Im sure the Flyers will look for deals that improve the team but this team isnt as desperate as the 2006-07 team - xShoot4WarAmpsx
I think people called them the twin towers or something like that in 05/06. Mike Rathje gave us all a lesson in the CBA about LTIR

He might not have hit it, but I think he’d be in striking distance one day. As of now, he isn’t, nor will he be. Remember how good G was as a playmaker back then? At this point, time has worn a lot of our memory, but my god was he a slick passer.
His stats would have easily been padded, just like Toews were. They played roughly the same timeframe, and Giroux has roughly the same point production over that span. And G did it WITHOUT Kane, or a player of his ilk.
Would he be at Clarke’s spot? Maybe not this year, but I think he’s around 1025-1100 with Kane at his side, and the goal would be in within reach during his career. Kane is around that spot, already. I dont think Kane’s production would have taken a dip playing on a line with a young Giroux, and then creating a bond with him on the ice for a decade. |

I get this last season sucked and we’ve been stuck in mediocrity, but saying Kane wouldn’t have had his career if he played here is absurd lol. He’s one of the best American hockey players ever. He maybe wouldn’t have the several Cups, but he absolutely would have put his point totals anywhere he played. He’s that good.
Kane and Giroux would have been an insane duo. Hell, Harsty may have had a few more 30 goal seasons if he played on their line. |

Nice to see Lucky Luke Richardson coaching in a Stanley Cup semifinal! And Gustafsson look like a trooper in a another uniform than the flyers. All things look normal in EX-flyers land. 🥳 |

Ek reporting Jones is not signing any extensions with any teams that trade for him. This means he either plays out his contract in Columbus and most likely walks, or he becomes nothing more than a pure rental and his price drops dramatically. Either way, its time for the Flyers to move onto another plan for this upcoming season. I think this is better for the Flyers anyway, not a fan of Jones and becoming less and less of fan as these reports mount. |

Jakob Chychrun had a breakout year this past season and is still only 22 years old. Can't see Arizona moving on from him unless we blew them away. Maybe we should? |
