Get rid of Justin Holl, replace him with Hamilton and you have the best top four in the NHL, maybe the best ever assembled, at least in the cap era

There is one way I see Hamilton becoming a Leaf. And it isn't Nylander who would have to go.

Trade Marner if you’re convinced he can’t elevate his game in the playoffs or he has some weird bruising disease, whatever. I’ll trust Dubas and Shanny on that, not the gang who have been one-handing it to the UFA list.

If you do trade him, the first priority is to remake the forward lines, not sign Hamilton. Any decisions on D signings depend on how much that and goalie purchase costs and on how things sort out with Rielly.

Its certainly an interesting notion there.

Brodie - Hamilton
Muzzin - Reilly
Oleksiak - Sandin
Tinordi - Lilybust as 7-8 options

Which means trade off Holl and Dermott about 4-5 mil there.

If Oleksiak is out, Bogo and Chara at a mil each experience and tough bottom pair vets to help Sandin.

Assuming we lose Kerfoot to the Kraken too so another 3.5 there.

Have to figure Brooks and Robertson get a look. Amirov coming in maybe??

Really this is going to get pretty interesting Still think one of the core, maybe Reilly has to move here.

I actually don't want Hamilton.

I only want to trade Marner because I think he can be (somewhat) replaced with a cheaper option while simultaneously picking up assets and saving cap space to acquire more than 1 million dollar plugs throughout the lineup.

I'm also fine if he stays. But he needs to wake up in the playoffs.

I would not be keeping Miky at 2mil on 4th line. I think if you keep Foligno I’d put him in line 2 wing but with JT and Marner. Nylander on line one with Matthews.

Love adding Goodrow but thinking with him and Coleman use Engvall in the middle. Robertson on Line 4 with Brooks and Spezza.

Still cant see going back to that d like that.

trade Rielly for a decent forward, trade Marner for a decent forward and a prospect. sign Dougie with Freddys and Riellys wages.

The D barely gave up any goals vs Montreal. With an injured Muzzin. The whole point of signing Goodrow and Coleman is to have a sledgehammer line to bash your opponent making them weaker so your big boys can take advantage.

Then they should be fine against Tampa.

they gave up 2 to many, plus the Leafs need a point shot on the powerplay.

It's much better living in fantasy land. Sign Hamilton and Oleksiak. Trade for Jones and Eichel. Who needs a salary cap?

Going to disagree. Montreal altered their plan and shoved into our crease hard. They got the dirty goals and we were not real strong back there. We need to be a bit tougher.

I agree on the third line there but like I said then you move Miky out with a 2mil hit. Money in and out really.
